Hi guys,

I'm sorry to ask for this on our nice canadian armor forum, but you may be able to help. I'm in the last step of building a german Spz Marder 1A3 and I'm looking for pictures of the beast in the field. I was able to find only a few, many walkaround but not a lot "in action". I'm aware of the Panzerbar website, but they're mostly walkaround, very nice though..
Do you think someone can help ?

Marder 1A3 Reference- Off Topic

November 13 2007, 1:37 PM

Luc,

There are some good images on the internet....it just takes time to search and find them. Just regular image searches for "Marder 1A3" works as well as searching Corbis.com and Getty Images using search words such as "Kosovo German" or "Kosovo tank".

There are for sure images of the Marder 1A3 deployed in the Concord Publications Kosovo book and other various Concord Publications and Tankograd books.

Also, Tankograd released a dedicated book just on the Marder.....Tankograd Military Special 5017 "SPz Marder. The Armoured Infantry Fighting Vehicle of the Modern German Army." There is an entire chapter on the Marder in service.

Here is a review of the book.....

Thank you Jason for your answer. I just ordered the Tankograd book on the Marder. Did not receive it yet though. Believe me I take my time when searching on the net..I tried over Google, and found a lot of walkaround pics but very few " in the field". I even tried some german keywords :)and find some excellent pics of german military in afghanistan ! But almost nothing on the Marder itself..

Anyway thanks again for the help.
