You have got to be kidding, april Fools was a while back.

That makes how many vehicles with that name? 3 , 4 , ....

There must be someone in Ottawa with a hard on for this name. The one that it seem's to stick with is the MRAP that the EROC uses.

cheers

ARV Name

I specifically asked an ARV driver currently training in Germany on the new ARV about the name of the vehicle and he said "Buffalo".

The German name is "Buffel"....which tranlates to Buffalo.

I have heard the ARV referred to as the "ARV 3 or ARV 3 Buffel".

I do find it very strange that there is the Buffalo EROC and the Buffalo ARV 3.....the same name should not be used on different vehicles while they are serving.

At any rate the crews love the new ARV...super powerful and all the bells and whistles to get any job done very quickly....they can even pull their own powerpack.

Thought we had got away from naming vehicles because it was too silly/difficult to have a different name in each language. Probably a CF urban myth.

I still prefer "Taurus C2"

Don't forget - the Water Buffalo

I'd hate for a couple of those to show up on my VMO when I expected Counter-IED or Armoured Recovery assets.
