I see Eduard has a set (BIG3561) for a Leopard 2A6M set for a November release? I would think it will include the slat armour and the standard 2A6 PE parts.....will it include anything else?

The etch sets are good

Who need wheel masks? Too bad there's not a fix with the inaccurate slat kit.

I'm not picky Milo

Here's one

[linked image]

This was a little problem for me if I had the photo before hand I could have fixed it. These lower arms (see picture) are to long. Like I said I'm not picky and not the type to get carried away with this.

There are a few minor problems with the slat I was hoping they would have fixed them or added resin parts to replace the slat arms.

Like I said in my build blog this kit is a fine example of industrial design.

side mount

November 6 2009, 10:52 AM

I know that with fixed to side is very hard but this is no Eduard slat problem
butproblem Germany producer which this prepared real slat for Leopard.
This system is not happy.
Eduard have all parts ready.
I very think about this side parts. Maybe I for my slat this make of also from resin.

You work to much

November 6 2009, 12:43 PM

That would be good and maybe make some resin mount arms. With resin arms the build would be much more enjoyable.

Funniest phrase for long

November 6 2009, 9:22 PM

"...no Eduard slat problem but problem Germany producer which this prepared real slat for Leopard."

Ha, ha, ha, that's the funniest explanation I heard for really a ling time!
Oh, my God!

slat produce

Harald
If producer real slat make of mount simply, Eduard make of this also simply.
But this mount is very complicated for that many modeler have problem with this parts.

mounts

November 6 2009, 11:47 PM

The mounts are rubber to maybe help stabilize the slat.

Mounts

More likely they absorb vibration which lessens the possibility of damage to the non-armoured slat mounts against the much harder steel armour of the hull.

Forgive me, Milo...

November 7 2009, 4:58 AM

but it simply sounded so funny when I read it. I know WHAT you really wanted to say.

Laughing I had so many examples in my mind where kit producers have simplified things and/or overseen things: f.e. the ever wrong 'bowed' upper engine cowling of the Bf 109, the equal distances of the road wheels of Gepard etc., etc.

So in fact Messerschmitt made the mistake in making it straight [as it is for a hinge!] and KMW [as it is for better distribution of the weight]?

I have meant no harm, Milo!

Harald
