turned out awesome

Jason, a great idea for a modern day diorama, the "mashed potato" title is ace. The groundwork etc looks so realistic. The loader seems to be looking at something, but, what is it meant to be he's focussing on? Maybe turn him a bit so he's facing the angry frau?

Thats a great dio.

I love the drivers face. It's almost the same face my 6 year old makes when he gets caught doing something he isn't supposed too. (I see it alot these days)

Thanks for sharing.

Hello Jason
Thanks for displaying your work. You have executed all your elements with great skill. It's great to see someone model our Forces so well. Great work, and look forward to your next project.

Best regards and happy modeling Ying.

Thanks Guys

It was a fun project and I appreciate your comments. I tend to tweak alls dios shortly after completion and this one is no different.

The dirt in the field is in fact dirt. I used good old top soil and sifted it and then threw it into a small electric food processor to grind it up even more.

I will be adding more farm stuff to the left foreground portion of the base as I have turned the turret so the main gun now faces forward. This was my intent all along but the traversed turret looked good....but the loader figure was intended to be looking back along the hull at the damage created in the field....thus creating more interaction with the miffed Fräulein.

I'll take more pics soon once the additional details are added.

Great Cent Jason!!!!,Now some more leo 1s!!!!

June 8 2012, 9:50 AM

Hi Jason
Love the Cent trashing the spud field in Germany!!!!.Just wondering if some of your fellow tankers did this in your leopards maybe??.It was hilarious seeing the rantings on Armorama regarding the new Kintetic M109a2 kit!!.Im happy just to get a better detailed kit rather than the old Italeri kits.Am wondering how well the Kinetic kit would do for a Canadian M109a4?.Ive got a Revell german m109 with the Diehl tracks so maybe it could mean a barrel swap to make a Norwegian version.Anymore leos pending??.
All the best from Richard

Thanks

Thanks Richard,

Trashing the farm fields and cobble stone roads did happen in the Leopards too...and many a German citizen was paid out lots of Deutschmarks.

We may see a specific Canadian sprue for the Kinetic kit if all goes well...likely for the M109A3 and not the M109A4+. Kinetic has Diehl tracks in the works already.

I have a wack of Leopards, Canadian and other nations, all planned or slowly in the works.
