Carl Zobel (male), (that might not be his real name), Carl Zobel, Hauptstrasse 94, Z. Hd. Sonne, Offenburg 77652, Germany. His "business" address: Carl Zobel, Firma LR Zobel Numismatik, Mercure am Messe Platz, Schuterwaldstrasse 1A, Offenburg 77656, GERMANY. His made-up and real (?) phone and fax numbers: +49 (0)1212-5-231-85-129 (false). Also: +49 89 2443 69609 (worked as fax). He signs his letters as: Carl L. Zobel, LRitter Zobel Numismatik, Offenburg, Germany.
A young guy who acts like if he was his father (could be two individuals as well), makes phone calls, he is well knowledgeable in numismatics and he's most likely a collector or a dealer there in Germany. He makes up all kinds of stories to convince a collector to make a trade deal, then sends an empty package and disappears. He claims to be dealing with well known dealers, to be a member of well known collector clubs and societies:

"....my business is registered with the Föderation Europäischer Münzhändlerverbände (Federation of European Numismatic Trade Association http://www.fenap.com/) which has oversight over the Verband der deutschen Münzenhändler (Association
of German Coin Dealers http://www.vddm.de/). In Offenburg, my business is locally known among financial establishments (such as banks and the Deutsche Bundesbank Aussenstelle in Stuttgart) as a result of years of ordering from them. Most banks
in my town, including the Deutsche Bundesbank Aussenstelle in Stuttgart/Frankfurt, have standing agreements with me...."

"He has everything to sell". He will "sell you anything" in order to trap you into his scam scheme. His greed has no limits. He might be from Muenchen (Munich) or Appenweier(Offenburg) or even Amsterdam, NL and his names might differ. You could be his next victim! Beware of this scam artist!

Zobel or whoever you are, what a shame, you have posted here three times: as Soon See Nah, as yourself and as "George Jenkins" (faked name by you) under the same IP address which originates in Europe (Amsterdam, Netherlands or Berlin, Muenchen). Exact place of your location is already known by city government where you live and by German Embassy. I'll use your post (using "jenkins" name) as a threat, that will ease the judicial process a lot. Now it's only a matter of time...or would you rather prefer returning the payment to me? You have only 2 days left (till monday).

Hello Audrius:

My wife were looking for a source of some banknotes which our customer
needs. We found your website yesterday afternoon. We have never ordered through
the internet because we traditionally obtain our notes either from Mietens here
in Germany, directly from issuing banks, or from suppliers with whom we have
had long and established relations. My client from Innsbruck (Austria) needs
the following banknotes/items. Please tell me if you have these notes, and
your total price (with express shipment, perhaps by DHL or otherwise, since we
have a branch near the town where I have my coins and banknotes shop).

DZ-139 500 Dinars 21.5.1992, 2 pieces (if available)

SR-60 500 Gulden 1.1.2000 (bird, flower, map), 10 pieces

CO-449 50.000 Pesos 7.8.2000, 1 piece

MX-80 1000 Pesos 7.8.1984 (J. de Asbaje, S.Domingo), 10 pieces (if
possible)

MX-82 2000 Pesos 26.7.1983, 10 pieces (if possible)

HK-289 1000 Dollars 1.7.1997 (dragon, bauhinia flower) serial number:
B333332, 1 piece

LT-VISA Sheet of three visitor's visa SPECIMENS(self-adhesive, with a
hologram, serial No. LT000000), 1 piece

My customer is visiting Germany and will return at the end of the week, so I
hope that express mailing will allow the notes to arrive soon.

I have lived and worked in Southern Germany all my life. My wife and I have
never had or used a credit card since Mietens sends us an invoice which we
settle through our bank branch. However, we have the "euro-cheque". I do not
know if this is an acceptable payment instrument outside Europe. Otherwise, I
can instruct my bank to transfer the payment. Please offer your suggestions.

With best regards,

Carl L. Zobel

Hallo --

I have just come back from the bank. The assistant manager, who is a friend
of mine, gave me some special packing material which the bank uses for its
branch-to-branch deliveries. I will re-pack each banknote in this special foil.
It has a security tape on each side which is designed to prevent tampering
("anti-peep"). I do not usually send internationally because of lack of
clients, but the magnitude of your order makes me worry about stricter customs
inspections in the U.S. as a result of the sept. tragedy.

Also, I will declare the contents of the package as "Documents." Is that
fine? I expect you to do the same thing with my order (and all my future
orders). German customs levy a tax of 16% of the declared value.

I will call FedEx this afternoon to schedule a pick-up time.

Regards,
Carl

Location/s of "Zobel"

No score for this post
December 4 2001, 12:17 AM

IP address 213.251.136.186 that shows on most of "Zobel's" emails resolves to:

Country ID: 175
Region ID: 2981
City ID: 6580
Latitude: 52.35
Longitude: 4.917
Country: The Netherlands
Region: Noord-Holland
City: Amsterdam

---------------------

IP address 213.61.227.133 that shows on one of "Zobel's" emails resolves to:

Country ID: 91
Region ID: 1927
City ID: 3651
Latitude: 52.517
Longitude: 13.4
Country: Germany
Region: Berlin
City: Berlin

It looks like "Zobel" was emailing me from Amsterdam and then he went to Berlin and continued emailing me from Berlin since his IP addresses change date-sequentially (in date-sequence) and back-and-forth Ansterdam-Berlin-Amsterdam-Berlin....etc.). THOUGH, this part of his identity: #0012994945@gmx.net - it does not change even if he changes cities. Some other id's "stay on him" as well. He probably did not realise that.

Then "Zobel" also uses another IP address location:
145.254.63.70 which resolves into the following:

Country ID: 91
Region ID: 1927
City ID: 3651
Latitude: 52.517
Longitude: 13.4
Country: Germany
Region: Berlin
City: Berlin

Even if he does not move between Amsterdam and Berlin, he is definitely somewhere (most likely) in Germany in one of the following cities: Offenburg, Munich, Heidelberg, Berlin (less likely). He seems to stayed in a "Sonne" hotel in Offenburg and most likely received the Fedex package with my payment in that hotel and then he went home. Anyway, his real name will be known to me very soon and I will post it here.

Here's another locatio he ("Zobel") possibly was visiting:

IP address of one of his emails: 149.225.106.145 resolves to (briefly):

Latitude: 48.767
Longitude: 9.183
City: Stuttgart
Region: Baden-Wuerttemberg
Country: Germmany

Another IP 217.84.123.73 resolves to:
Edmonton, Alberta, CANADA.

Comment: I only can guess his profession and permanent location before authorities complete the investigation.
The guy must be travelling a lot. He might be a male stewardess. Could be the guy who supplies "squirrel" with notes since he is a steward though it's just my guess for now.

Since "Zobel" seems to be quite knowledgeable in world paper money, he might be a coin/currency dealer in Germany or Netherlands. Just for everyone's info to be aware. The above IP address data is submitted as a part "Zobel's" case.
