Activated Blackstone rules?

by Noble

Where can I find the rules for an activated Blackstone fortress? They aren't in the core BFG rulebook, and I haven't been able to find them on GW's site or the BFG Warp Storm book.

want termies?

by

OK, I have two GW "archive" cyclone missle terminators that I decided I don't want. I will sell or trade them to anyone interested. As far as money goes, I guess 10-15 bucks for both (one has a little damage to his left side where the arm goes, but it is not bad).
I am looking for good bits to make my own terminator missle-launchers and heavy flamers if you are interested in trading.

On a completely different note: The insurance decided to total the Beast...so if anyone knows of an old car, in good shape but w/o an engine, let me know. If the Beast must die, at least its heart can live on in another body. (btw- engine compartment must be able to accomodate 454cu [7.4L for you heathens])

whoopsy....

by listy the treadhead

ive just puredsed hte preatioans, i count (not including points spent on missmatched weapons, about 400 wasted Pts!

1 Inquisitor Victor Von Trenddle (Inquisitor) @ 95 Pts
Bolt Pistol; Psycannon; Daemon Hunter; Rosarius
Power Weapon [10]

waste of points, delete him ( im guessing about 70-90 odd pts.)

1 Col. Archibald Henderson (Command HQ - Colonel) @ 175 Pts
Power Fist; Power Weapon
Carapace Armour [5]
Refractor Field [15]

1 Medic @ [10] Pts

1 Standard Bearer @ [10] Pts
Laspistol & CC Weapon

looking at that lot you actualy expect your guys to survive a wound, its VERY easy to cause a wound that ignores your armour save, or instant kills on guard, so the bionics, and the medic are no use.

Col, well i personly prefer a captain over a col, as it only gives you a +1 wound and LD for 20 pts!

power fist, AND a power weapon, what are you thinking? the power weapon will bounce of because of the lack of mussle power. and almosyt all hte time you will be going last, so you might as well use your fist.

trademark items, dont like em, never used em. STD is good. very good.

6 27th /1rst Anti-Tank Squad (Anti-Tank Squad) @ 125 Pts
Lasgun; Lascannon (x3)

6 27th/2nd Anti-Tank Squad (Anti-Tank Squad) @ 125 Pts
Lasgun; Lascannon (x3)

1 Sentinel @ 45 Pts
Front Armour: 10; Side Armour: 10; Rear Armour: 10; Heavy Flamer
Extra Armour [5]

ok, the rest is good, especialy the 6 lasscannons.

1 Lt. Robert Donovon (Platoon Commander) @ 99 Pts
Bolt Pistol; Power Weapon
Carapace Armour [5]
Refractor Field [15]

NONONONONONO! he's just a blasted guardsman with +1LD and A, there is no way he rates that much equipment, normaly a bolter is all i give mine.

4 1rst Platoon (Command Section) @ [31] Pts
Lasgun (x1); Lascannon (x1); Flamer (x1); Grenade Launcher (x1)

9 1rst Squad (Infantry Squad) @ 96 Pts

Flamer (x1)

1 Sgt. Reynolds (Veteran Sergeant) @ [24] Pts

a vet SGt??? WHY?

1 27th Praetorian 1rst Tank Corp (Leman Russ Vanquisher) @ 248 Pts

#Pintle Storm Bolter [0]

ive got both a vanq and a russ, i always (now) run the russ, with a single Hbolter in the hull. Its all you need!

1 27th Armoured Artillery A Troop (Basilisk) @ 125 Pts
Indirect Fire Capability; Earthshaker Cannon; Hull Heavy Bolter

Grifons, much cheaper and do the same job! and that min range of 36" is still a killer for a massive 35 pts.

5 27th Praetorian Black Horse A troop (Rough Rider Squad) @ 95 Pts
Hunting Lance; Laspistol & CC Weapon (x4); Flamer (x1)

1 Sgt. Horvell (Veteran Sergeant) @ [30] Pts
Hunting Lance; Bolt Pistol; CC Weapon
Carapace Armour [5]

again with the wargear....
personly there isnt enougth there to make the difference, up them to 10 men, or drop them entirley. id also give them lassguns and a plasma gun. then use htem as dragoons, only charging in towards the last part of hte game or if the situation dictates.

3 27th Praetorian Black Horse B Troop (Sentinel) @ 150 Pts
Front Armour: 10; Side Armour: 10; Rear Armour: 10; Multilaser
Extra Armour [5]

good, very Good, however you forgot the armoured crew compartment.

now the entire army is armed with mis matched weapons, what are the chances of you useing hte long range weapons? not much, why? because your tanks, At squads, cents will be covering hte streets. you infantry is needed to screen or move up and destroy the enemy formations with melta and flamer fire.

what your missing: leamon russ Demo, its big, its scary it HURTS!
hellhound its small its scary (although seems to be quit timid) and it HURTS
Commisar's, they are a god send to an IG army of any type, carrapace armour, refector feild, bolt pistol nad power fist, and you will leave big holes in hte enemy. if you want to be REALY nasty put him on a horse (for frre) and have him back up hte RR squad, if your gonna be REALY nasty give him a RR lance as well.

to me personly it loks like youve constructed this list the way you would a SM army, who actualy benifit from wargear, guard benfit from more weapons and warm bodys, as well as more armoured vechiles!!

Cityfight

by

Since you can hide your characters they work pretty well for IG in cityfight. I agree that power fists are the better option. I'd also take a few preachers with fists. Hellhound and demolisher is always a good choice.

Hey I gots' a Demolisher in there :)

by

The army that I am bringing is more of a fun type army to play and all of the army is what you see is what you get, so Every thing is modelled the way it's listed. My Col. is a full metal figure which came standard with the Praetorian Box set, he has both a sword and powerfist I believe he was originally a Commissar.

Vet Sgt Reynolds is actually trooper Reynolds who survived all the IG battles I had Against Angron's Chaos troopers and his Eldar Troops as well. I had to make him a Vet. It was only fair. As you will notice Lt Donovon who was also a vet survivor is now commanding a Platoon. (LT. Donovon was promoted by Commissar Yarrick himself). So thats a bit of fluff for the story.

Inquisitor Trenndle is searching for Commander Faust to bring him back into the fold or elimanate him(this is my Inquisitor from the Ephreal Stern set from Forge world. How this fits in is that the 27th and 7th Cav are allied with Faust's Dark Knights. The Knights and several other Marine Chapters will be battling in a Campaign that Angron are working on. 10,000 points of troops total for the overall City Fight Campaign at my house.

I know that some of the troops should not be involved in this, such as the Black Horse Cavalry,"Rough Riders"
But I fgure what the hell. Actually I do have a mtd Commissar with the Rough Riders, "Unless I failed to put him in there. I'll have to recheck my list" The reason I don't have ten rough riders is because they are all converted Praetorians and I have been piecing them from bits-workshop over time. I have 4 more to make to complete a ten man squad.

Thanks Very much for the critique I found a few things I missed and need to correct. As the my time is running out the battle hails this saturday.

My excuse for all this wargear, I want to see how it'll work. You see I am taking alot of stuff I don't normally use. My sentinals are the old type without the encasements so they are open topped unless I model them real fast as enclosed. "aint gonna happen as I just finished painting the Demolisher, Chimera(arbites vehicle) and now I'm working on the Arbites bike squad and Arbites Patrol Trooper squad(thanks Carmarchu for helping me with my recruitment)

So thats the method behind my madness. I have left behind
a Griffon
2 Leman russ Battle Tanks
3 Chimeras
10 Stormtroopers
4 regular squads
1 anti tank sqd(lasCans)
Death Watch Marine Sqd(10)W/Rhino)
vindicare assassin

Wellbikes! where are they? or the trencharts...

and jeeps, AV 9 surely for unarmoured? mabye 10 on hte front because of the engine block. and 5 guys yes i know they could carry 5 blokes but it seems a bit odd to me as the para jeeps were realy for moving the 6pdr's and other supplies. or as medevac.

oh and dont forget to turn all your grenade launcher's into PIATs

Too much...

by Rafale

I don't want to create new weapons, they'd be impossible for a (hopefull) Citadel Journal article. S6 AP4 of the GLs will have to do.

As for jeeps, I've seen pics of guys pilling up in them, so 5 is not too much. Maybe I can give 1 or 2 to the heavy weapons squads...

Bikes? Hate them, can't stand them.

model the grenade launcher AS PIAT's, not a new weapon, so you actualy have a strmtrooper with PIAT..

and how can you nt like wellbikes?, it would just be a ST with a movement of 12, nothing else. a folded wellbike would fit inside a canister, its about hte same size as a PIAT!
top Speed 15mph. yes its an egg whisk attatched to a pair of wheels.

DE hellion update

by

Hi guys,

The next exciting instalment of the Dark Eldar codex update will replace the current download as soon as the US web boyz have woken up (could be anywhere up to 24 hrs so bear with them...)

Inside you will find: Hellions deep strike, MUST hit & run, and are now armed with punishers instead of hellglaives, all for the bargain price of 22 points.

I expect people will still ask for the ability to assault on the turn they Deep Strike, but I'm not allowing it. The reason is, in Deep Strike we have a simple mechanic that everyone understands, so we would be doing the system a disservice if every time we used a standard rule, we altered it to fit that particular troop type.

I've also changed the effects of Wych weapons slightly, and decided that 12 points per model is about right.

There's a couple of other minor changes, but that's the most important stuff. We look forward to your feedback.

Cheers.

Andy H and Phil Kelly.

Wow, they haven't blocked the IP yet (they're logging and blocking frequented, non-work related IP's...in other words they're checking them).

As for everyone who asked to be a moderator...I'm not the forum owner, I can't make anyone a moderator. Since diablone's been MIA for quite some time, I doubt this board will see another any time soon.
So, I think everyone knows to be on their best behavior and ignore crap/adverts/double posts. It shouldn't be too bad. And hopefully I'll be able to get my own PC soon.

Anyway, take care guys.

And peer pressure makes it four

by Leesa the Reoccuring Harley Queen

OK GUYS LAY OFF THE EMAILS. I'm alive, I just don't game any more. I've got more business related problems that keep my life much more interesting. With no more Harleys, and Warzone pushing up the daisies, I'm pretty restricted to just have a bunch pretty painted warriors on my shelf. Love life is ok, got back with Bobby. But I'm still running a restaurant, and going grey in the process. Still keep in contact with Tabby, and Dave by proxy. I don't really have a game to talk about anymore. But thanks for the concern guys. I'll try and poke my head up on occassion. Promise. And maybe Emerald, Marissa and Trey and me can get our promised four way going if I can get some Harleys and Trey paints her marines.

Restaurant owner? Read this...

by Rafale

A local player also has a restaurant/bar. The guy is the greates fanatic of all: has 16 WFB armies and is about to start his first W40k army!!

Every 15 days, on a Thursday night he sets up 4 big tables and every one brings a painted army, then it's up to 3am playing bog battles, with the regular costumers looking over our shoulders, and we guzzling down! loots of fun...

It's good for his business: we eat/dring lots and it attracts a lot of clients.

Cheers.

Wow Glad to hear from you both. It is great to see that you still come around. I confess I went a good amount of time away from my beloved miniatures and I also have been playing an online game as of recently.
Dark Age of Camelot.
I will have to email Marissa and see if she is up for that foursome and maybe visit Andy Chambers and the gang to see if I can charm them into coming out with a Chapter approved Harlequin list or if I am really persuasive (puts on tight red sweater and mini skirt) we might even see a codex. (May Gork preserve us)

Trey I really hope all goes well with your apartment plans and may you find out that Dark Age is far superior to Everquest any day. and Equally as adictive.

You're still playing everquest? I'd thought you'd beat that game by now. Don't feel bad, not many people here play as much as we'd thought. How long has it been?....

by

Right, I've been away about 2 years, and haven't been playing Warhammer for about a year.

What have I missed?:)

I am still stuck in Everquest, I should imagine I will be playing that game til it goes offline. My Warhammer armies are STILL unpainted, and my poor marines are still in their boxes in pieces. I do have some friends down here (living with my fiance now, 300 miles from where I used to live) who play Warhammer too and they are bugging me to paint and play, so maybe something will happen.

I go in GW stores whenever I am near one, but there aren't too many handy ones in this area. I did see some Tau models last time though and I thought they looked pretty good, and the new Dark Elves, I have to say, kick ass.

I'm still with my Wood Elves, and I had a game recently with them. Unfortunately for me, I was playing a veteran Chaos player, who has a whole background of historical battles and whatnot behind him, so needless to say my usual dithering for 5 rounds ended up in quite a pathetic defeat. It's the armour I tell you! How are my poor archers supposed to take down a unit of Chaos Knights on horses, who only die if they roll a 1 on their saves?! IF I wound them in the first place?

I have a lot more fun with my marines when I play them, although that last time I did that was a year ago. I had great fun, about 2000points of my marines against 5000points of Imperial Guards:) That was a blast, and I have to say, my favourite troops of the day were my scouts. They took out a whole flank and the center of his force with just 2 units! (big units) Got all of his heavy armour and the basilisk, and blew up a chimera with a squad of vets in it:) I have to get those guys painted up so I can use them more:)

And in general I have to stop dithering. Staying still with an entire unit so I can maybe get off one shot with a heavy weapon is a bit silly, when I have another 7 or 8 bolters who are out of range and could be shredding his infantry. I just can't get away from my Wood Elves, stand and shoot lol

Thankfully the bloke who beat me (Dave, a great bloke) is very interested in teaching me how to fight better battles, so maybe someday I might actually put up a half decent fight.

Gotta get painting first though. My fiance and I are finally moving into our own flat soon (if the thing goes through) after living with his parents for a year. We'll be able to go online whenever we want (Hurrah!) and I will have room to paint stuff.
I shall have to get the next White Dwarf and see if there is anything interesting going on at al in the near future. I am s far behind everyone it's not funny..

Just a slight concensus

How many of you think the GW people are complete morons?

I was looking at the October Issue of White Dwarf #261 at the city fight battle report between the cadians and the night lords. What struck me about the article was the initial army lists. Tell me what is wrong with this:

Fast Attack:

Hellhound with a turret mounted inferno cannon, extra armour, dozer blades, smoke launchers.

IDIOT! That's all I can say.

I think at one point in every battle report you just have to stop and wonder what is going on. That Phil guy that has played a in a BR in the last 5 or 6 WDs sucks, yet he wins consistently and is a staff champ of some sort.

He won one game because the Dark Elf player decided to go with the no shooting, no offensive magic, just sit there strategy. A win against an all shooty Empire army in Albion after that. He beat 5 Giants because he got lucky with his lvl4 Grey Seer and Emisary hiding in a stone circle and blowing the Giants away. Then he got wasted by the Tau because he sat back halfthe game.

Nice track record for the staff champ. Maybe they meant the infection.

Cheese Tournament

The local game store is having a "Cheese Tournament" All rules can be used (VDR, Flyers, etc) as long as it is "legal".... 2000 points, and army comp points go towards cheese armys instead of balanced.
Basicly, the more outrageous the army, the better. Right now I am thinking of an 1800 point VDR Super (duper) heavy tank (I am calling it the "bolo" for you kieth Laumer fans out ther) and 11 SOB's 1 hq and 2 min squads inside the tank...
The tank will have mega earthshakers, lascannons, shields, 5 structure points, etc, etc...

I resent that my Blood Angels are cheap!

by The Black Knight

How so?

The +1 Strength, +1 Initiative, and +1 Attack is for ONE round in close combat only, and that is if WE charge.

Plus, don't forget, I ALWAYS have to pursue. Do you know how much trouble that gets me into, and how much enemy fire I always take?

Ever swept into Incubi, Nobs, or Genestealers before? It isn't cool.

Ever sweep right into a Space Marine squadron and have them rapid-fire about 20 shots into you? It doesn't feel good.

And I don't play Blood Angels abusively, anyway.

The only real "abusive" way to play BA's is using two Chaplains, maxing out on the D.C, using small 5-man Squads with Vet. Sergeants to try and get the free Power Weapon or Fist, and things like that.

Lame. I like flavor in my army.

LOTSA Termies, Veterans, Assault Squads, and the like! Still good in close combat, and a lot more fun! Land Raiders rolling everywhere is a load of fun!

Just knockin' ya. Not that I dislike ya or anything (it ain't that! Ya ain't that bad!) Why do ya hate Blood Angels? They're cool, and I'm glad they're better than they USED to be.

Mike at our gaming club hates my Blood Angels guts and always wants to see me lose. Also goes to show he's a cheap Eldar player that wrote his own Codex that I personally didn't think too highly of.

Sorry, I know how fragile his ego is.

by Khellin

I don't actually know the Bug stats, but I know its hard to get a wound on them in the 1st place. A Wraithlord means hitting 3 or 4, and wounding on 6s for 1 turn. Not good odds since if you fail, you will die. 3 or 4 chances to roll a 6 are not good odds. Big bugs are a bit better, but still not a sure thing. As for the SHP on bike with the scouts, not a very common character. I rarely run the SHP, and if so I use a Honor Guard for him. My army is led by a chaplain (my own fluff), so I don't even have a Librarian fig. Seems like a waste running on the bike since they now say you cannot get the extra attack for 2 CCWs. Thats 1 less attack for everyone in the squad, you fit less models in to fight, and have a smaller squad size.

there is a methord to my madness...

by listy the treadhead

the SHP on hte bike is for two reasons.

1. if he as the exasanguator (or whjatever it is) a T5 is alot easyier to pass the tests for.

2. it alows him to keep up with alamostr any unit and alow thm the re-rolls on HTH. he can also lead the DC in lieu of the chaplin.

the bike scous well, sth, t, I:5 is not to be sneezed at, add in twin linked staonary bolters, and speed of 12" then hte terrain re-rolls and you get a VERY efective unit.

OK, 2 things here...

by Khellin

1. Exsanguinator only works if you are NOT in base to base contact. I usually only give it to Sanguinary Priests, not the SHP. I also give them a Storm Bolter, and run them at the very back of the unit if I cheese it out ( only did it once, and it was funny ).

I also cannot in good concience use the T5 for Exsanguinator tests. I don't know if itsd legal or not, but it sure seems bad.

2. A Rhino is faster, and I never run without a Chaplain (my own fluff reasons).

Don't get me wrong, I have seen BA Scout bikes used very effectivly, I just subscribe to a different school. I will take a regular tactical squad in rhino for same hitting power, but fewer points/ lower T. Add in the fact that you don't use a FA slot, and the Tacticals get the nod any time. Shame the figs are not as cool.

yeah???

by listy the treadhead

i know htat a SHP cant use the needle in B2B, so what?? just have him standing behind the unit to get hte re-rolls.

yes useing hte T5 for the rols is leagal AND fluffy, think about it, he isnt tired from running around hte battlefeild, so he has more enegey and can survive the loss of more blood.

rino's can be killed very easily from heavy weapon salvos, bikers can survive. personly id use the ten man rino hit first to weaken hte enemy line then hte bikers to brake it. (as they will arive slightly later)

Wolf's Lair no longer support AB lite. It's not on their site anymore and the files which have the Tau in them require the latest version- which is later than the last version of AB lite.

Looks like the only way to get the rules is to buy the book.

An idea...

..partial moderators.

2 or more people volunteer to help moderating. This would cut down on "work" time for all.

Commisars do not count toward your HQ slots, so thats fine. I asked rules boys about assassins in a SLMIC and they included it in the FAQ. No need for a black Chimera for him to hop out of. Funny how they even left my reference to our local cheese monger in the question when they answered it in the Q&A.

Predator prey game Saturday

by

Late in the day, 5 of us are standing around wanting to play, so someone came up with preadator prey game.

Set up is like mordhiem, 18" square. Anything that didnt fit or you didnt want at the start could be in reserve.

Game objective: defend left, attack right. The catch was that you got NO points for anything you kill to your left(he's a preadator), you ONLY get points for killing anything to your right(he's your prey).

set was me(sisters) to my right was Imp guard, to his right Tau, to his right chaos(khorne/nurgle) and to his right orks(non-speed freak).

The game went barely 3 turns(store closing). Highlights for myself:

multimelta squad autokilling his ogryns(that'll teach him to try and sceen his troops), the exorcist kill his demolisher(he had it turned to deal with the tau, gotta love side/rear shots) and the seraphim making it across the board up a flank, charging the side and using krak gernades. Of course, if he had another turn, the entire guard force was turning to shoot them, but hey, thats life).

Overall its an incredibley FUN game.

Very Very cool book a BFG novel that is truely one of the best 40k stories written by the GW staffers. Very intense I am enjoying my read very much. So much so I have entered the Dakka 1500 pt BFG RT tourney.

kill team is also supprisingly good as well.
i was expecting a dirty dozen rip off, and its starts out its going to.
HOWEVER once the mission starts then it starts getting good, the coomedy of the Tau transport, the horror of the kroot camp (he did that bit VERY well), the rather funky plot twist with the crisis suit (that bit did surprise me), and quite a few other parts, made it a damn good book.

i was also expecting to be able to work out hte plot from the end of the book, nad you seem to start out with a good handle on things, then the plot (surprisingly) does take some od turns. guess i didnt expect a GW staffer to get that devious.

i did however get one part right, i just NEW kage would end up with a pulse rifle....

I don't think you were being out of line

by

You made a good arguement for the sisters. I have to agree with you on the "gaurd in power armor" statement. Power armor is good period. You can put a grot in power armor and have him whoop up on some firewarriors. That 3+ save is a lot better then that guy thinks it is. The Tau have come on the battlefield and everyone is wetting thier pants about them. "Oh god that's some firepower," "Thier basic weapon is Str5 AP5 30" Rapid fire!?!?!?!?"

All of the armies have things in them that set them apart from every other army. Deal with it. The thing I am most worried is my friends Dark Eldar army with those new Wych rules you found for us. I think I am definately not going to like psycho-rabid-naked women attacking me with a 4+ invulnerability save!!! Well maybe "I" would, but my army definately would not!!!

And today's breakin story-SOB 2, Tau 0

by

Played 2 games vs a friends Tau army, helping him test his army out.

He picked a mission, I plicked one- neither of us wanted clease of night fight.

I choose patrol or recon? Corner deployment, and away we went. Basic result? Draw/minor win for me. I managed to kill mroe than he did.

Next one, he choose suicide mission. Dominion squad was my suiciders(he said any elite or troop choice) He choose fire warriors.

End result? His commander in a battle suit left, most of my army left, I only lost one sister squad. A single seraphim squad burned/shot up most of his 20 man kroot squad, then played tag with a crisis suit squad and a fire warrior squad. The Heavy bolter retributor squad took down his broadside, the exorcist played hide and seek with anything it could find. On the other flank, the dominions lost its rhino, but with the still managed to take out the pathfinders and a fire warriorsquad. The basic sisters moved up the middle, taking out the devilfish(meltaguns) and causing basic havok and threats.

Even he agrees, sisters are a real bitch to deal with(pun intended). Acts if faith managed so vital rolls(4 causualties from poor armor save rolls resulted in either one or none with the 4+ get back up).

He's still thinking what he wants to do to make the tau better. Hopefully the hammer head and stealthsuits will be a big help when released.

Ack, so bored in school, ONCE MORE! and again... again...

by Farseer

weeeeell boys and girls! Guess what! When I am bored, I created games! Yeah, I get THAT bored! Ok, I got this idea....

music plays softly

A minature game based off medievil times, with very basic rules and tactics. The stats are done as follows:
Attack/Defend/Movement(inches)/Roll need for Morale.

VERY basic, because, quite frankly, i'm sick of some of the GW crap that lets you arm a commander with 25 pounds of jock protection, 1 ton of invulerable saves, and 17.253 gallons of Super-Sports-Drink for a couple of points!

Welcome to a tactian's game I say! Basic unit, basic ranged unit, basic mounted unit, and a commander.

BUT THE REAL QUESTION!

Which is cheaper(or at least less annoying), creating my own crappy clay models (think the pre-polygon stage of computer graphics, REALLY NOT GOOD!) or succub to laziness and buy GW's overexpensive paper weights?

The details will be fleshed, but the models are the major problem.

Thank you for your time, and my Post-Historic Mind will come out with a IG army list SOON! But don't hold your breath, or else you'll die (AND ITS NOT MY FAULT, ITS HTE'S PROBLEM!!!!)! Oh well...

There are a ton of companies that make good, inexpensive minis.

by Khellin

Reaper makes great figs, and from the sound of it, will have regiment size units at a competative price. Currently, there are several lines of 25/28mm Ancients with Medievil figs. If you are really lazy, and don't feel like doing the appropriate internet searches, I can post the manufacturers I know of that offer figs you could use. Reaper tends a bit more towards the fantasy end of the spectrum, but ask The Glen, he could tell you more about their line than me. I believe "Armory" is one of the names to keep an eye out for.

The other guys

by The Glen

This is a quick run down on the companies and figures I'm familiar with.

Chronopia has a mix of great and crappy figures. Everybody has huge muscles, even the elves. Game has serious imbalances though

Celtos has a similar situation, great figures/crappy figures, lousy rules.

Reaper right now makes game figures, D&D. They have bases molded on them, none of them a standard size. We will be releasing apocalypse next year, which is our army game. Easy to play, detailed and lots and lots of units. Undead has over 20 types of undead to play with. Marauders have over 12 types of humaniods, not one of them goblins or orks. Problem is, game is in Alpha format right now, no figures yets.

LoTR is a different scale. We compared them at Reaper, they are about 18-20mm, compared to 28-30 to Reaper and GW. You also need seperate shooting attacks from melee attacks.

okay..long shot...does anyone have an original gyrocopter?

The original has its pilot with a soft leather, WWIIish pilots cap. The 2nd gen one had the norse winged helmet, the of course the newest has a completely new design and everything.

I'm willing to buy or trade for it. Thanks.
