As part of the ongoing cull of my collection, here is another great watch for sale / trade
This is a scarce Certina DS-2 Automatic Certidate with a fantastic blood red/burgundy dial.
These were made between 1968 and 1975 and were famous for their shockproof movements.
I've owned this one for about 5 years now.
It keeps accurate time to about 20 secs per day.
A common fault on these was the date wheel mechanism....this one has been sorted and works fine.
Case dimensions 38.5 x 42 x 12mm
The caseback on these is fantastic with the deep relief wavy pattern surrounding the famous Certina turtle symbol.
This watch is a good, honest, wearable example.
It looks great on the wrist, but at circa 40 years old it does have a few dings and scratches, and some loss of paint to the hands...but nothing too detrimental imo.
If you want a perfect one, then they are available for about $700.
WOULD LIKE TO TRADE FOR SEIKO SUMO OR SAMURAI....OR ORIENT MAKO (MUST BE ON BRACELET AND BLUE DIALLED VERSIONS PLEASE)
Please PM any questions.
