RAISING CERTIFIED REGISTERED WOLF HYBRIDS FOR THE MARKET
For the last 45 years our Foundation has successfully bred and sold Registered Wolf Hybrids. Many of our first pure wolves were wild and captive bred animals that were the offspring from captive caught pure wolves that we had adopted from a relocation service with the Canadian Department of Interior. These captive and relocated wild wolves were brought to our many rehabilitation facilities where they were tamed and handled by their keepers. Pure wolves are not easy to keep as they require constant handling, quiet locations and a place to hide, plus
plenty of high protein dog food.
These captive wild pure wolves were a product of man's destruction of their habitat and they became a nuisance towards the humans who had moved in on their home territory. These wolves were of all ages, they learned to find food in the towns, camping areas, dumps and other areas where man had moved to. It was decided to capture these wolves and move them to other locations. It was not known at the time that those wolves who had become lazy would eventually return to the areas where man was in order to find easy food. So again they were caught and then placed in licensed facilities as game parks, zoos, and wildlife reserves. Many baby wolves would be rescued after their mothers would be killed or died from disease. These babies would also be relocated and kept in captivity. Once a pure wolf becomes used to being fed by man, they will no longer be able to be set free as they become too lazy and will always seek man as a fast way to find ''easy' food.
The pure wolves that were adopted by our Foundation in the 1950's and 1960's became the breeding lines that produced the pure wolves we have today. Our pure wolves are not bred to each other but only to certified registered wolf hybrids of our bloodlines only. We have seen during the 40 years of raising these very marketable hybrids that there are many INSTANT wolf breeders who claim to be wolf EXPERTS who claim to have pure wolves and wolf hybrids and who are breeding and selling unregistered puppies, to the unsuspecting public. There are also over 200 bogus wolf associations and registries started by these same people who were not
elligible for registration with any legal organization. This also includes U.K.C. as they also will register any mutt dog bloodline for $ 25.00, as a wolf dog. These are the people who flood the market with cheap mutt dogs being sold as wolf hybrids. The main lesson in this case is BUYER BEWARE. The oldest scam among dog breeders is "ADD THE WORD WOLF TO YOUR COLLIE/LAB/SHEPHERD/HUSKY/MALAMETE cross pups so you can get a fancy price $ 300 to $ 500 for them rather than give them away as mutts. Sell them cheap without " PAPERS " as pets. And to further the breeder's claim as to their animals being wolf hybrids they will say:
OH, I GOT MY MALE AND FEMALE CHEAP AND I DIDN'T WANT THEIR PAPERS SO I DECIDED TO BREED THEM ANYWAY AND SELL THEIR PUPS CHEAP AS PETS. Another common line used is : I SAW THE PAPERS ON THEIR PARENTS BUT THE PEOPLE WOULDN'T GIVE ME PAPERS ON THE PUPS Yeah, Right ! In other words, you are being suckered. Our philosophy is as such : NO PAPERS, NO MONEY ! We would never buy any animal until we checked with the registry where that animal is recorded. If these so called
wolf hybrid breeders were legal, they would have registration papers on their animals. 90 % of all wolf ads you see are phony. Some owners even tie their female dogs out in the woods so that a coyote will breed them. Generally a coyote will not come close to a domestic dog out of fear, and another dog will sire the litter. And, those pups will also be advertised and sold as wolf hybrids. There are no pure wolves in the United States that are breeding with dogs in the wild. Plus, 99 %
of all coyotes are not pure but have somewhere down the line crossed with farm dogs of all breeds. So if you hear of a dog being bred in the back yard by a " wolf " from the woods you better head for your car.
You will hear many stories during a fraudulent sale. And then there are the really dumb people who already got suckered into buying a bogus "wolf" who go ahead and breed it to who knows
what and again the pups get sold to more suckers as wolf hybrids. And the line goes on and on. The ONLY way to begin a PROFITABLE breeding program is to buy certified registered breeding stock that is not related, keep your paperwork in order, follow the rules of the registries and register your pups.
Never inbreed or linebreed your animals, and don't believe everything you hear from all the unintelligent " crooked EXPERTS " that seem to pop up everywhere if they find out that you have absolutely no idea or knowledge about wolves or hybrids. Remember, these people cluster
in groups so that they have so called references. Many of these hustlers will tell you that they are experts on wolves and hybrids and then give you a line of B.S. If they know you are
ignorant of wolf genetics and they know you have money to spend not knowing what you are buying, you will be their next sucker.
If you are seriously interested in becoming a breeder of registered wolf hybrids here is some information concerning marketing.
1. The highest sales are for the high percent wolf hybrids.
2. Everyone who has always wanted a wolf would be able to handle a high percent hybrid provided that the animal was handled since birth.
3. 31/32 % ( 97 % ) is the highest percent hybrid you can legally own without a Federal Permit.
4. A well bred hybrid is 20 times more intelligent than any inbred dog. Remember - ALL AKC registered dogs are severely inbred and carry hip dysplaizas ( an inbred trait.) And all UKC
dogs are junk-dog bloodlines that AKC wouldn't register. Two very poor dog registries that promote inbreeding and linebreeding.
5. Never buy from a person who does not have registration papers on the pups. Also if they are registered as wolf dogs with UKC, don't waste your money. As UKC will register any collie/lab cross as a wolf dog for $ 25 without any genetic proof. That should tell you something.
6. If you purchase unrelated REGISTERED breeding stock and you register your litters, you are able to market your pups at a registered market price, as legal wolf hybrids.
7. One registered breeder pair can bring you over $ 300,000.00 a year in pup sales as well as stud service, if they are promoted properly.
a. your female comes in heat before 1 year old. Don't breed yet
.
b. five months later- second heat. Breed. 63 days you have 8 pups. Register your pups immediately. Advertise them immediately.
c. If they are 31/32 (97%) sell them at market price of $ 2500 ea. 8 pups = $ 20,000.00. cash.
d. 5 months later your female comes back in heat. 8 more pups and etc.....
e. The sales continue, take deposits, book upcoming litters in advance. Your female can be bred twice a year up to ten years old. she can make you $ 40,000.00 every 14 months for ten years. Add it up.
f. THE MORE YOU ADVERTISE, THE MORE YOU SELL. If you have pups or not,
get your ad out in print and take deposits.
8. One certified registered male high percent wolf hybrid will breed all year round if you choose to stud him out.
a. You run a National Ad for stud service and you book the female dogs or other hybrids in advance, with reservations and deposits. Shipping arrangements are paid by the owners of the females.
b. The breeding fee is based on the price of the stud or the value of half of the litter. You do not want 'PICK'' of the litter. You would have no use for the baby as it cannot be bred back to your stud and it would be half of his percent. You as the breeder are entitled to half of the litter. It is best to stud for a cash fee only. After you receive your breeding fee, you then photograph your male breeding the female. On the photo, you write the date of service, name of the dog and the owner name, address, phone. Keep these pictures in your record. Do not breed or issue breeders certificates unless you have been paid up front. Don't fall for the sob story that the owner of the dog will pay you after the pups are sold etc. If that is the case, you can kiss your stud fee goodbye. You won't see a dime and they will make a fortune off of your male's pups.
c. You have to protect your investment! If you advertise your stud and book the females in advance with deposits, that stud can bring in 10 females a week, at $ 2500.00 each if he is 31/32 (97 %) which can add up to $ 100,000.00 each month.
9. If you want to become a successful business minded wolf hybrid breeder, and make a decent living promoting your registered animals, you will have to invest a very small amount of money to buy your initial breeding stock. Look at it this way: If you own a car lot, you have to spend money to buy cars. When the cars are sold, you have to buy MORE cars. And this goes on and on as long as you sell cars for a living. BUT- wolf hybrids are a one-time purchase. THEY PRODUCE their own offspring and inventory. They bring in their own money with little cost on your part. you only have to feed and water them. They will breed for ten and more years. If you invest $ 5,000.00 to buy a 31/32 % (97%) unrelated pair of registered wolf hybrids, they breed 10 months later and you make $ 20,000.00 in cash selling pups and another $ 50,000.00 or more off of stud service, was it worth the original investment of $ 5,000.00 ?? Show me where a bank or a stockbroker can make you that much money in that short a time. Welcome to the world of exotic animal breeders. The money is out there if you are prepared and have the marketable stock to sell.
10. Wolf hybrids fall under the exotic animal trade because they have a bit of wild mystery in them that fascinates everyone. They have always been a highly marketable animal and this is why so many bogus breeders tack the name wolf hybrid on their mutt dog pups. They couldn't get
$ 300.00 for a pup that was half Lab and half Shepherd. But they could if they said the father of the litter was a " WOLF" think on that. The popularity of the hybrid is the reason they are the most highly marketable canine in the United States, for the last 50 years. The wolf hybrid is a one owner animal, a loyal family pet, a protector of your children and property. Most of the time your wolf hybrid is smarter than your children and can sense danger before it happens. With their extreme intelligence and their ability to establish their territory consisting of your property and your family, they become one with their owners. They have to be treated like one of your children instead of your dog. They have strong family ties. Their beauty, loyalty and intelligence overwhelms most people who meet them.

We offer a payment plan to those of you who wish to reserve a pup out of a future litter. You can set up a payment schedule into an escro account which we will maintain. When your account is complete, we will contact you and notify you of the time your animal (s) will be ready for shipment. This will guarantee you a pup as they sell extremely fast as registered stock. Since our animals are out of a foundation registered group with two organizations, it is impossible to hold on to any babies once they are advertised. Many have been sold in advance to people who have made deposits with reservations.
