"Wolf-dog cross" means a canid resulting from the breeding of any of the following:
(1) A wolf with a dog (2) A wolf dog cross with a dog
NOTE:
1. Dogs are in the same biological class as wolves. Wolves are the species. Dogs are a subspecies.
2. Every dog is a direct descendant of wolves, regardless of it's appearance.
3. THUS, every dog is, by legislative fiat, a wolf dog cross, no matter how remote its wolf ancestry.
Sen Leon Stille and Rep Gerry Law pushed this tyrannical law through the legislature,
and Governor Engler signed it, all with full knowledge that it's target animals cannot be identified.
Such is the power of the Michigan Humane Society.
One Senator who opposes "Breed Specific" laws has warned that the real danger of the new law is that
with just slight change of definitions, ANY DOG BREED CAN BE ELIMINATED.
Animal rights activists will surely eliminate every breed in time, if this law is allowed to stand. Think about it.
