I'm sorry the info-laden world causes you such distress, it sounds as though you have the same reaction as me but on a way larger scale... I first experienced it while on buses in Hong Kong, looking at every sign and advert that passed by scanning for chinese characters I could recognise (only a few, but focussing on them helped acclimatise) ...I started to loose control, scanning for text when all I wanted to do was look at the cityscape. It was almost as though the silent words shouted out at me, vying for attention.
Back home I have the same problem, even when I'm driving, slogans from adverts and shop windows catch my eye and I find myself reading the words looking for meaning... but finding only half-jokes and drivel. Like I say, when I'm reading WG I become more immune to this, but it returns later.
