Response to apophenia

i find the notion of anyone defining anything as apohenia as somewhat arrogant, no offense to anyone.

who is to say what connexions truly exist and what connexions are constructed? after all, after a connexion is constructed, does it not exist? to deny that would mean a sort of self-claimed omniscience, would it not?

i remember doing a little (and i mean a little) research on Gregory Bateson and the "interconnectedness"; if i remember correctly, this whole theory would be apophenic.

i guess i find the idea of making connexions that don't exist fairly creative, if not almost empathic. if relied upon and fixated, yes, they would become detrimental to the existance of the poerson, epscially if driven by a paranoia based upon egocentrism. but a healthy exploration or seeking of connexions would not lead to potential hidden ideas that are waiting to be discovered, no?

i have not finished the book (Pattern Recognition) yet, so maybe i will learn more.

enough for now.
