I wasn't sure whether I'd find this - and you - or not (and have I?)

Response to ehilà Mother Anarchy

This is the first of Gibson's novels that I've read that is contemporary (previously, I'd read, roughly when they were published, Neuromancer, Count Zero and Mona Lisa Overdrive). I'm only on page 68 of Pattern Recognition, when I had to know - was there really a Fetish:Footage:Forum, and a parkaboy....

So - there is a parkaboy, and a site, but do either of you predate the book? Or was this a sort of fan-site/homage to the book? Gibson must have at least seen this quasi-mock forum.

Since, at page 68, Bigend has just offered Cayce the job of finding the creator of the "footage" - it so far strikes me as similar, just a bit, to one of the sub-plots of Count Zero, when the boutique art-dealer woman in Europe is hired by Virek to find the creator of the art boxes (which turns out to be the remains of the T.A. AI, post-interaction with it's intersteller brethren...)

Anyway - interesting to find this, I hope I don't hit "respond!" and get some error message...
