I believe that the generations after WWII have lacked the need to do anything. In other words, we (I and my generational cohorts) have never needed to create anything to eat, sleep, drink, or entertain ourselves. Our lives are commoditized to such a degree that whatever we need is on the shelf, prepackaged and probably on sale. This is why we are not creative--it is something we cannot buy, and therefore we have a short supply of it.

The solution? Give post-WWII generations something to do besides listen to records, go to concerts, ingest drugs, and fuck our minds away. I believe that we are educated into this state by parenting, t.v., teachers, bus ads, etc. We have dormant potential that needs a situation to arise. Many people are never put in a situation that demands a creative solution--especially kids in the last 60 years.
