Halloween......

To the person on Page Avenue that gave out religious pamphlets...... Are you insane?? Why on Earth would you give out material to young kids depicting a child getting beaten by an abusive father with a bat, thrown out on the streets, then shown dead in a cardboard box?? These are children!! Do you think a 6,7 or 8 year old would understand the message of Jesus Loves You through that cartoon?? I respect other peoples religious beliefs. What I can't respect is forcing that belief on others. It's Halloween. There's a time and place for material like that to be given out. To adults. Not to children. To the person who gave out that garbage, luck is on your side, for I am not sure exactly which house it came from. You should be ashamed.

How about all the drunks giving out beer and wine to the parents as the little kids trick or treat. Some people need to grow up and stop thinking they are 17 again. Its a disgrace to see grown men run aroud with there red cups drinking in public or have some guy wave a wine bottle around in his front yard as kids come by. Maybe next year we should give breathalizer test at the top of the hill. or how about we give out AA fliers instead of religious properganda

Drinking?

That would be called Adult Behavior....And I see nothing wrong with it unless the people involved are openly or visibly impaired, or acting disorderly.

Contrary to what MADD and Politically correct maniacs would have us all believe, not everyone that has an alcoholic beverage now and again is a dangerous, immoral and irresponsible human being.

Try reading up on freedom, It's what we used to have in this country at one time.

I do not think there is anything wrong with having a drink or two when people are having a good time. It is only a problem when people take advantage of the good time and get drunk and disorderly.

I don't think have a drink or two should be considered "white trash" or that terrible that you need to attack someone's parenting skills. Also, unless you are the perfect parent (which, by the way, no one is) then you should not trash other parents.

Drink up

I can not belivie you will try to say it is ok to drink in front of all those kids going up and down the block trick or treating. If you are around all adults I can see your point, but to booze it up at that time is just plain tacky. Now most people who have a drinking problem are in denial anyway so I understand why you will try to argue with this post, but I will tell you the next time I see this going on, I will make sure I put the children first and call the police because drinking in public is against the law. And the safty of the children should be the only thing that counts. And as far as many good people see it , you drink in public at a kids function you are white trash and a disgrace to the town of Lyndhurst.

A "Happy Halloween" is a lot of work for parents....costumes, school parades, running to Grandma's so she can see the kids in their costumes, handling kids on sugar overload, etc. Unless you're staggering around, I see nothing wrong with a cocktail at the end of the night. Lighten up!

WHEN ITS OVER

Yes when the day is over and you are in your own home, but not when you are walking door to door with your child saying trick or treat. You really need to stop trying to defend the drinking, cause when your child is a teen and belivies the only way to take the stress off of there backs is through a drink, you will see how your example has set them on a very bad road. You are a parent, start acting like one and not some reckless adult. keep your drinking indoors.

I will never say that drinking in public is OK. I did not see anyone walking around town drinking. I know that drinking in public is unlawful.

But if you are drinking in your own home and keeping under control without getting drunk and disruptive, then I do not have any problem with it. Children also need to know that it is OK for parents to do somethings as adults that they cannot do as children.

Not all people that have a drink are white trash and have a problem. I personally do not drink except on a small special occasion or celebration, but that should not mean no one else can.

I also guess that the post from "Joe the Plumber" thinks he is the only one that is a good judge of "good people", I would like to know what gives it that authority?

You really should not trash people unless you are perfect and since no one is perfect, you really should show more respect for people and not trash them.

I call it white trash, the people I have talked to call it white trash, the police call it a crime, but you call it ok. You try to make me out to know everything but in fact you act like you know all. Lets go back to a post on june 8, 2008 when you responed to Opinions are like_ every one has one. you posted a statement and I quote "people should pay more attention to what their kids are doing and how they are acting instead of spending all their time on a message board". Well put, so now let me say it again, Drinking in public around children is just down right wrong, and being that you think I know all let me take a note out of your book of knowledge. Pay more attention to your children and not how much strss you can knock off with a little booze. The bottem line is there is good, there is bad and there is WHITE TRASH. I will let the rest of the public place these parents in the spot they belong in, cause I don't want to be the only know it all. To all the parents who do belivie in what I am trying to say, next time you see this going on, put a stop to it and help keep Lyndhurst safe.

He's a Bush supporter. What do you expect. He knows better than anyone.

Probably can't hold his liquor. So he has to enforce everyone else.

I agree with you that this post has nothing to due with politics, and it is silly to bring it into this.

That is what I meant when I have said in the past that one post leads on to something else that has nothing to due with the original post.
