Typically, when the economy is recessing, when people are out of work, and money is scarce -- SPENDING should halt, or atleast slow down, right? Apparently DiLascio and his dapper sidekicks do not comprehend this simple principle -- HOW TO SAVE! They've done eveything comprehendable to spend your money and made no attempts to SAVE or decrease your tax rates! Thankfully I'm not epileptic, because those new solar powered stop signs located throughout the town sure have the power to make anyone drop to their knees, shake, and have a seizure! Rumour has it that the futuristic, almost jetson's-like, pulsating stop signs cost nearly $20,000 so far, and they are only installing more! I wonder if somebody close to DiLascio is selling those stop signs and he is using OUR money to buy them. I mean afterall, who is buying solar powered LED light up street signs during one of the biggest recessions since The Great Depression. One would assume with the election right around the corner DiLascio and his puppet show would cut spendings and perhaps spend the remaining month of their term running on their initial slogan "Stop Over-Development". And still they are SPENDING AWAY with no remorse. Even though it is quite evident that 3 years and 11 months of over-developing and spending money at a rate more rapid than an AK47 cannot be forgotten by 1 month of not spending.

Let me ask everyone a basic question: If your kid acts up and you tell them to please STOP and they continue acting up, you would conclude that they are not listening and perhaps consider further punishment, right? Well if you recall, WE (the taxpayer) asked to please not build a POOL! DiLascio, being the kid in the example, proceeds to build the pool.. NOW as the taxpayer, just like the parent in the example, you have the right to TAKE FURTHER ACTION! Vote them out! Our economy and world is only getting worse, how much more can you afford! DiLascio will just continue spending, his black heart will not slow down if you get laid off! IN WITH THE NEW! VOTE!

As for the pool, what are you even trying to convey here? I don't recall any outrage over the pool (as in "the people are pissed"! ha ha ha) I don't recall any votes on it or any surveys taken. What do you think that you are: a soothsayer?

What I do know, as a resident in town, is that people have been expressing how delighted they are about the new pool. What is your problem? No real issues, maybe?

This is the first time on this site but I noticed that Mr. Bandolino is almost on every post in here. It is also obvious that you like the current commmisioners in office. Maybe you are not a homeowner and only rent. How can you not be annoyed at the mess they put this town in? I'm not going to be one of those people who goes on and on. Lyndhurst still has taxes far lower than any surrounding towns. And while the current commissioners seem to have broken their own promises to curb development, taxes in NJ go in one direction, UP. And when you had the poster boy of political corruption, Mayor Guida, running the town, he pulled out every trick in the book to keep taxes low. So there was no doubt that one day the residents of Lyndhurst would have to pay the piper.

With the dismal failure of one of the biggest scams in NJ History, Encap, the borrowing of future money that was never going to be there, went away. So again, taxes have no where to go but up.

We have a sitting Governor that fears overhauling the courts, to stop the illegal practice of Court Mandated education spending, and in the worst economic conditions in decades refuses to curb frivolous spending in the state. Mandating pre-School for the entire state is a plan that will spike education taxes across the state.

The new "President" appointed a former Federal Reserve Banker to the post of the Secretary of the Treasury. (Let the foxes watch the chickens, everything will be OK). And Obama's new Budget and Healthcare proposals will sap the already bad economy for 2 Trillion dollars a year.

People flipped out about 168 Million in AIG Bonuses, while the very same day the Federal Reserve Bank printed 1 TRILLION DOLLARS to buy "bad debt" from banks. And we have, later the same day, the Federal Reserve and the Dept of the Treasury asking congress for special powers to take over Non-Banking companies that they deem risky.

You have Hillery Clinton, publicly accepting blame on behalf of Americans, for the Mexican Drug Cartel wars.

So look at the bigger picture Lyndhurst, Taxes are going UP School Taxes, Property Taxes - ALL Taxes. Maybe Lyndhurst should pull Guida out of retirement, and let him steal more money from your childrens future. Or leverage future tax revenues to finance his desired Transit Village plan, where all the unemployed people could gather in the mornings and watch Cops get free coffee and Donuts....

All people of Lyndhurst should drive into Kearney and Harrison and South Newark...because that is the evolutionary path of Lyndhurst. Lyndhurst is becoming a small city, not reclaiming its small town heritage.

these signs are not only 1,500$ each in a town which is already in debt. but flashing stop signs in my opinion are one of the many indirect reasons why many loyal lyndhurst residents are tired and pissed and moving down to the jersey shore. nothing wrong with a little modification, but those flashing signs are a little too urban for me.

The fact that these signs are a waste of money, and are of dubious value, is overshadowed only by the amount of time it will take them to be disabled by vandalism.

It's called Progress. The stop signs were not designed specifically for Lyndhurst drivers. They were designed as a safety precaution for ALL drivers.

Regardless of what you were used to for so many years, things do change and hopefully for the better. Once again, it's called Progress...plain & simple.
