They are attacking the only two people they can. It very sad that educated people have to behave this way. All I know is I was raised if you have nothing nice to say don't say anything at all. Obviously these 5 have to resort to lies and nasty tactics that is truly sad. If they ran on the facts of what they did to this town there would be no question who would win this election.

I was very dissapointed in the "Lyndhurst First" flyer bashing Evelyn Pezzolla. Obviously she is considered their biggest threat. For the most part I consider the current administration to be committed to the township and applaud many of their accomplishments, but this type of derogatory campaigning demonstrates a lack of character on their part.

Everyone expects their taxes to go up, but not on parks and playing fields. We need to improve our schools, get new books, improve the streets, sidewalks and lots more. I don't feel my taxes should go up for clean streets, parks, and fields. Are those going to be good selling points when you go to sell your house. Or are the people going to look at the school system and your taxes.

What I took issue with in the first flyer was "then Commission Pezzolla finished the job raising taxes another 61% in another four years". I have owned a home in Lyndhurst since 1971 and I think I would have noticed if my taxes went up 61% in four years. I am, however, willing to be proven wrong. Perhaps since holycow already knows this to be true, he or she could enlighten me as to how they did "the research" to purport this is a factual statement.

I have to agree. I have owned my house for 25 years and my taxes have gone up a great deal in the past four years. As I stated before I am moving and I feel sorry for the people who are left behind to pay for all the unnecessary spending these 5 have spent on absurd projects (the pool, state of the art football fields, other sports fields, Jefferson school annex, and lets not forget the park with a fountain people swim in and the stage and bleachers for a one week a year event). Please people use the good sense god gave you, and figure it out. HOW IS THIS GOING TO BE PAID FOR? THAT IS RIGHT YO TAXES WHEN THE BONDS KICK IN.

If this is your reasoning then leaving sounds like it's best for you. Please don't "feel sorry" for the rest of us. The bulk of the people are happy as could be with the pool, state of the art football fields, other sports fields, Jefferson school annex and yes, let's not forget the park with a beautiful, new fountain and a brand new stage.

It sounds to me like you don't know what to say. I know that the town's financial aspect was explained over and over again, at the forum, by each of our commissioners. I heard that our finance commissioner did an excellent job in addressing this topic.

And yet you come into an anonymous message board and say that these questions were never answered!

Face it...the opponents had their moment in the sun and they blew it! Between the stuttering and stammering and all of the bs in between...I am sure that they did not win any votes that night! Give it up, you are just perpetuating an embarrasment. Good luck with your move.

I'm not going anywhere. Is that the game that you are playing? Less than a handful of you come in here and don't want anyone else in if we don't agree with you? What other rule is there? I suppose we would have to overlook the poor grammar that goes along with the despicable pronunciation of words. We would also have to bypass, what we would see as, any type of delusional statements (as in the opponents did a good job at the Forum).

Unless I am to agree with what Snow wants me to then Snow would prefer me to leave. Is this your private message board, Snow? I don't think so. Now, guess what? Anyone you support in this election is who I will NOT be voting for. You are making your ticket appear worse than what they already do. But you don't seem to understand that.

Once again, my opinion is that the newcomers did very poorly at the Candidates' Forum. Yes, this is what I "heard". From people all over town.

Flyer

May 6 2009, 6:13 PM

This is getting tiresome, but I have to respond to your insistance that the information on the Lyndhurst First flyer is the truth as printed in the Commercial Leader. I have the first flyer and it does not reference the Commercial Leader as the source, furthermore, the words "Commercial Leader" do not appear anywhere on that flyer, period. Additionally, on that flyer, the statement "Now Pezzolla is runing again with Guida's support and together they are backing Paul Horvath, William Vazquez and Noelle DiTommaso and Elaine Stella" could not have been reported as fact in the Commerical Leader, because it is simply not true. Mrs. Pezzolla is running independently. If it was in print in said newspaper, it was probably in a campaign ad for the Lyndhurt First ticket. I think it best that you stop defending poor judgement on the part of the Lyndhurst First ticket and hope for the time remaining that they campaign on their accomplishments rather than falsehoods about the other candidates. The more you argue about it, the more negative reaction your ticket will receive, as evidenced in this week's editorial in the Commercial Leader.

I am definitely going to agree with you on one thing: Without a doubt this is getting tiresome. Now if we are in agreement on this, why would you insist on prolonging it??

Let's just see what happens on Tuesday. I certainly can only speak for myself and my opinion is that The Lyndhurst First ticket does not need any defending at all, much less for "poor judgement", not by a long shot.

As for the flyers: I never one time said that what appeared in the flyers about Guida backing these people was printed in the Leader! I am amazed as to how any conversation can become so distorted. Yes, this is not only becoming tiresome but I am the one who initiated the "tiresome" statement in the first place in another post in here. Now you come in here and repeat it back to me as if you thought it up first! HA!! HA!! HA!! Are all those who are in your corner this delusional or what?

I do agree one hundred percent. On second thought, I heard that one of the newcomers at the recent forum behaved as if he were at a debate and not at a forum. First off, I am not putting "everyone" down at all. But if you plan to climb way up high on to a soap box...and point your finger in the critical manner that you have been...then you had better be speaking clearly (and dressed to a tee, I think)...or be prepared to have that finger pointed right back into your face. This is a simple concept that is learned in grade school.

As for not responding back to me...well I do have to admit...that I certainly am pleased. Your spelling and grammatical errors have been a bit much. Your insinuations are nasty and your information is false.

And, after I just pointed out that you appeared to be changing the subject, in order to serve as a distraction, you come in here and say that I am changing the subject! You really have been providing me with some good laughs! HA!! HA!! HA!! HA!!

When I say that I have "heard" or I was "told" that is because I am certain to be receiving correct information as any responsible voter would. What did you do? Go over to the pool with a ruler and measure it yourself? You, too, are relaying something that you have "heard". (In your case, though, you seem to be spreading rumors).

My advice would be to brush up on fourth grade spelling and stop trying to knock down issues that you clearly know nothing about.

Perhaps the community should take a stance against the actions by any political party using the children to get their message across.

Let's call the School Board and asked Abate personally to answer the question, how did personal contact information get in their hands?

Also it seems that only certain parents and families recieved the notice, what about the rest of the kids dont they count?

I don't claim to know a helluva lot but it seems to me that you ought to be careful with your wording. "Using the children" to get a political message across seems to me to be stretching it a bit.

Common sense tells us that an informative session aimed toward the parents and educators of a community, in order to explain programs geared toward the betterment of the students, is a very far cry from handing out contact information to anyone who may be requesting it.
