My son is nine and in 3rd grade... He couldn't wait to be nine in the 3rd grade so he could play basketball... Now I hear that you have to be in the 4th grade now... Is this true? This would really stink if it is... He was really looking forward to playing.

I believe it's always been 4th grade. Who led him to believe it was 3rd? This would be their fault.

The flyer put out by the basketball league stated clearly boys 9-11 for biddy basket ball it said nothing about what grade you needed to be in!!! Just an age range!It is also posted that way on the Lyndhurst Web site. Why does it matter if your in third grade or in forth grade, as long as you are nine years of age??? So if your looking to place the finger of blame? Place it where it belongs, whomever created the flyer and allowed it to go out without the proper information!

Registration for Biddy & Junior Basketball League
The Lyndhurst Parks & Recreation Department announces
registration for the boys basketball league. Registration will be
held at the Lyndhurst Parks Department located at 250 Cleveland
Ave on the following dates and times:
Tuesday November 3, 2009 7:00PM to 9:00 PM
Wednesday November 4, 2009 7:00 Pm to 9:00 PM
Saturday November 7, 2009 9:00AM to 12:00 PM
The Biddy league consists of children ages 9 through 11 and the
junior league consists of children ages 12 and 13. (14 if not in high
school). This league is for LYNDHURST RESIDENTS only. The
registration fee is $45.00 for the 1st child and $25.00 for additional
siblings and $45.00 for traveling league. For further information,
please call the Lyndhurst Parks & Recreation Department at 804-
2482.

Hello All,
Just to clarify, Biddy League is for children ages 9 - 11 but they must be 9 years old by October 1st (using the school calendar as a guide). For Junior League, children ages 12 - 14 are eligible, also using October 1st as the cut-off. We apologize that the flyer did not indicate the cut-off date.

There will be an instructional basketball program offered for all children (boys and girls) in 2nd and 3rd grades which will start sometime in mid-January. A flyer will be sent home from school with your child with information on how and when to register for this program. This is free program offered by the Lyndhurst Parks Department and the Lyndhurst Recreation Basketball program.
