Response to "I'm a big/heavier voiced (blank). . ." (a long rant)

I was so blessed as a young singer that I sang Art Song until it was time to sing Oratorio until it was time to sing Opera. I was so blessed to study with a great technician that made me sing lots and lots and lots of Rossini.

La Tosca and I, share the same type of voice and it is not fun. However, I still sing Rossini to this day. Mostly to annoy my cats and to please my husband that LOVES Rossini.

I remember a coach telling me that for a dark voice I could sure move it quite fast and I remember telling this coach "Why wouldn't I be able to do that ?"

Horne sang bigger repertoire towards the end of her career and her younger days were fabulous.

Keep in mind, young singers also have a fire in their gutt that I am not quite sure that I still have.

I love every voice type, I love all repertoire, there is just some repertoire that will never work in my voice ? Do I sing it ? Of course, as a vocal exercise or to ensure that I know it in case I get a student that learns it one day.
