Drop the jaw

He had me fully drop my jaw, put a lot of space in the back and to not concentrate in any way in placing the voice in the mask. Now mind you, this took me several tries, this didn't come easy. Eventually we added the 'focus' back to the sound.

I didn't audition for a year while we retooled the voice. I also was only allowed to keep 1 of my arias. The rest got retired. It's why Smanie is such a scary aria for me, sometimes the muscle memory takes over and then I start to panic, so it's best to never let that aria return.

I still sometimes tend to hold the jaw in the lower middle voice and I have to watch and be sure I'm not falling into bad habits, but I can't mimic how I used to sing.
