I "gave up" at 22 when studying at a grad school which shall remain nameless. I had "that moment" where I realized it just wasn't worth it! The only ones getting cast in school or in programs outside of it were your cookie-cutter "Snow White" sopranos, as I like to call 'em.
So, I got a "real job".
Then the recession hit and I was out of that,too. I figure I may as well try and go back and do what I set out to do in the first place! Now I am trying to get back in the game, so to speak, thinking "maybe it's my time now since I am growing into the big rep they always said I'd sing!".
However, I've found it doesn't work that way since joining YAP Tracker. We're a youth-obsessed culture,it's true.
Too bad I can't count on being another Helen Traubel!
