My dad was very abusive - physically with my mother and metally with all of us. Although my dad and I have a great relationship now there was a long time i did not speak with him and he was not in my life.We have become very close in the last 5 years.
My mom was an alcoholic - that's why I left home, she sobered up about 2 months after i left and hasn't drank a drop in 20 years. She and I were always close and now even closer.
But i do wonder if they had been different would I have too?
