I certainly have empathy for those with chronic back pain. I remember working in minor care and a good majority of patients had chronic back pain and for the most part we all knew they were there for pain meds. Back pain is one of those things, sometimes hard to prove. I'm so glad that the doctor I saw ordered the MRI. I thought this all started just three months ago, but now looking back, after the dx, its been going on for at least five years, but not as bad. The arthritis I thought I had is not there. It's like after being dx with N, I could look back and then see that it started when I was 17. Thoracic surgery is the most dangerous areas of the back to work on surgically. I found that Mayo does laser surgery on an outpatient basis, no recovery time. My doc called the other day and said they faxed everything to Dr. Birch at Mayo and after they review my case will give me a call with an appointment. So, Pat, I'll keep you posted. I'm sure these few days are going to seem like months. I've had a hard time eating, because the back pain causes me alot of nausea. Thanks so much for your prayers.
