Just because there is no reason showing in our brains for cataplexy (that the docs can see) does not mean the same type of thing is not happening to us as people with epilepsy.

Yet their seizures, even those where they ARE conscious are described as "abnormal firing of nerves within the brain, leading to lack of control of one or more parts of the body."

Then our cataplexy is simply "lack of muscle control." It seems as if they are making it not as big of a deal as a seizure, when really it is basically the same thing. The only difference is that their condition can be plainly seen on the brain tests and ours can't.

You would think we would get more sympathy and understanding because ours is more unknown.

Sorry, just venting...
