a sad time

Yesterday morning a football teammate of my youngest son was killed and another injured in a car accident, he was only 17 years old. His passenger was severley injured and right now he is tormented by a recurrent dream "my best friend passed away in my arms."
My son is sad but not showing much emotion. He's been quiet most of the day. I'll be here when he needs me.
Being in the flesh I just don't understand why the young,brilliant and talented are taken home so early. It won't stop me from praying. but I just don't understand.
