Hey guys. I'm the said daughter. I wanted to let everyone know how much I appreciate the support.
We've actually run into the opposite barrier Vickie, both my psychiatrist and my GP believe I have Cataplexy, we just can't find a pulmonologist to diagnose me....One important note is that my psychiatrist had previously diagnosed me with conversion disorder, and then revoked his diagnoses after 6 months of intensive treatment and no improvement.
C fits. I have no symptoms of N that we can see yet, and my sleep studies show no evidence of N...I think this is where we are running into the barriers. The pulmonologists are seeing no evidence of N, and instead of thinking that C might be the first symptom, they say I can't possibly have the disorder and retry Conversion Disorder.
