I found one of them a few weeks back by accident: pretty sure i copied and pasted it because of some research and treatment innovation:

if you try "startle reflex" you get more obscure syndromes with effects like cataplexy (they say "like cataplexy" for some reason, as though cataplexy is a mainstream thing) but boy! it sure quacks like a duck to me!

and another pitfall of poking around the medical research world: you have to know an answer you want, and then ask just the right question, to learn the answer you want!

for instance, that "startle reflex" was part of a drug study for some other syndrome, which was used off-label on a very rare group of disabled, profoundly brain damaged and retarded, very young males (not sure, i think the survival life span is short)...

well, you get my drift: a researcher can look you in the face and say "cataplexy unrelated to N" and not say "startle reflex possibly related to brain anomaly" in a group that is distinct and identifiable at a glance.

interesting research though, because an unexpected compound controlled the falling reflex.
