THANKS! I came here really not expecting much support nor any results, but you all have surprised me. I greatly appreciate the advice. Please believe that I am going to be working on ways to incorporate it into our daily routine. Excellent answers were given pertaining to my son maintaining a job. I HONESTLY did not feel like he would be able to do it. I guess that had I been thinking sensibly, I would have thought to alert potential supervisors of his condition. I am now trying to help him focus in on the field of study that he would like to pursue. I ABSOLUTELY think that he is/has purposely not put his best foot forward when it comes to his grades. Now that i have read some of the responses to my posting, I fully comprehend that he is very afraid to be out on his own with this Narcolepsy disease. Yet, me, being the pushy parent that I am, have tried-to no avail-to keep him from feeling sorry for himself by making and SHOUTING that he has to get himself together....in actuality, it is harder for him than I ever imagined. I also want to know if there are any clinical trials for Narcoleptics that anyone knows of? Are there any other medicine combinations that I should bring to the doctors attention? What else can anyone else tell me that will be useful for me to use in helping him? Has anyone researched the role that stem cells would play in aiding a Narcoleptic? What do we (those that wanna help) do to get this disorder known the way that diabetes and parkinsons, ect., are known? I need some ideas and some people who are willing to help me to get this thing front and center. I am willing with the help of others who are or who know someone that is in the same position. I am mad as hell and I wanna get some results....this is not fair to the person who has the Narcolepsy, nor is it fair to the people who love them. This disorder takes a lot out of me, so I can only imagine what it does to those who have it.
