I hate to be the one that throughs the monkey wrentch in but, I didn't have very good teeth as a child. My mom had these beautiful big white teeth, my dad not good at all. He got dentures in his fifties, my mom 83 still has most of her teeth, some bridge work. A great deal of our teeth and bones have to do with heredity and then nutrition and good dental hygiene. My mom always told us to brush but we would collect pop bottles (bottles in those days) and take them to the store for penny candy. By the time I was five I had numerous molar cavitities. Thank God you get a second chance when your permanant teeth come in. My girls, after learning my lesson about sugars, brushed as I watched and I flossed their teeth every night before bed. They are in their thirties and one had one cavity this year and the other has none.
Granted drugs can affect your teeth and bones, but if you look at the illegal meth users most have very poor teeth. I think the combination of the drugs, poor nutrition and dental hygiene are the culpret. I knew a speed user for years who had beautiful teeth, but he was OCD about his appearance and hygiene. We are taking stimulants to just stay awake and function, we are not abusing them to get high and stay high in large doses, plus illegal drugs have fillers that are poisons.
