re: provigil

When I was at the Mayo I asked the psychiatrist about the dose of provigil and if more than 200mg was really a waste. She said absolutely NOT. Depending on the severity of you symptoms, doses up to 800mg are beneficial. Provigil is only good for about 3-4 hours, so depending on what your day is, when you get up and if you're working, 200 mg is normal every 3-4 hours. She told me to take 200 mg upon getting up in the morning, four hours later take another 200 mg, then if I am crashing at 4 pm take 20 mg ritalin, which will help enhance the effects of the provigil and keep me awake and alert longer.
