OK.. So I need to figure out whats going on with me. About 4-5 years ago I started to notice that I was getting uncontrollable sleep attacks. I went for the MLST and was dx'ed with idiopathic hypersomulence? I was prescribed provigil, not only did I have really bad headaches, it was expensive, so I was switched to Dexedrine. Dexedrine used to help me. About 2 years ago I had an episode where I woke up and had severe muscle weakness, slurred speech, photophobia. Taken to ER and was told I was dehydrated, as I improved in about 4-5 hours with fluids. Nothing but the normal EDS for the last 2 years, however last week I was sitting at my desk, felt a sleep attack coming on took a dexedrine, my phone rang I answered it, then all of the sudden a total feeling of disconnect, followed by me hyperventilating, and slurred, and stuttered speech, taken to ER again, this time admitted, as my speech did not improve. ALL tests normal, 2 mri's 1 with, 1 without contrast, eeg was normal despite hyperventilating again when photo stimulus was engaged, testing on heart, EKG was normal, blood work was normal, unrine test was normal, my speech problem lingered for several days, slowly improving... ruled out strokes, and my mri's were clean as a whistle. Im 29 years old..when I woke up that morning, I had a very slight pressure behind my eyes, this was the same with the first episode, so they now diagnosed me with a typical migraines.. HELP hass anyone else had a simialr episode?
