Yes, I have been to the neurologist and have had several MRIs over the past few years. They never find anything though, so now a sleep specialist is trying to see if something is wrong.
It sounds from the definition like my experience does not fit cataplexy. I had an experience where I laughed and half my face went numb/droopy as a result, which sounds more like what you described. The falling experience I had seems more like I spontaneously fell asleep or something.
