Those all sound like good questions. I am seeing a sleep specialist, I think the plan is that he's going to test me for narcolepsy (he was uncertain about it at first, but said that the symptoms I can remember make a strong case for the possibility). He didn't seem dismissive of me, just cautious (there's a good reason for that; I was having trouble speaking in a way that is coherent so he had to really pick through what I was trying to say), he spent quite a bit of time talking to me.

They have a sleep lab of their own and also a sleep lab in a hospital, if I remember correctly. He was the only sleep specialist that my insurance covers, so I'm hoping this goes well... but I will make sure to ask those questions next time I see him.

I didn't realize there were different kinds of C. Fear/surprise seems to trigger a need to sleep (my cat jumped on me last week in a dark room... scared the crap out of me, and also solved my insomnia problem for the night). I guess I'd better hope no one tries to rob me... "EEEK! A gun!! *thud*"
