Re; just found
Your story is unique, and so much like our story's. You will find out that we are all not the same. Some symptoms are stronger in some of us and some of us will not all have the same symptoms. Over time some symptoms will improve and others may worsen. So far nothing helps all of us. What works for one does not help all of us. You need to write down anything that changes in your symptoms. Make a record that includes your cataplexy attacks and severity. Number of your worst dreams. The more that you can document, the better chance of getting Dr.s to believe you and come up with medications that will help you cope.
Most of us have bizzare dreams, and some of them can be really interesting. But the real bad ones are in a class by themselves. Mine are dreams of being attacked and being murdered by being slashed and stabbed by glass, knives, swords any thing that will cut and leave me bleeding. Each time a different weapon is used. To end these dreams I am instantly on my feet and out of bed. That breaks the hold on me. If I lay in bed and go back to sleep then I will go back into the same dream. I only have this dream one or two times a year, but thats for over thirty years.
I was diagnosed in 1967. I found this site about 5 years ago. I have learned more in 5 years than all the years before.
We welcome you and you can be sure that someone will offer help for any questions you have.
