As I have grown older I have noticed it is harder to watch sad movies. I have always liked Hallmark Hall of Fame, but now I avoid them. I usually get weepy over them, and by the time they are over, bed time, My sinus is swollen and my eyes are running. Not good when you lay down.
This morning I read about a couple in Colorado who's baby at 3 months, had 12 broken bones. It was diagnosed as child abuse. The baby went to foster parents, and the father was arrested for child abuse. He was told by his lawyer that he was on his way to prison for 25 or life. He was so devistated that he shot his wife and then killed himself. The foster parents took the baby to the hospital where he was diagnosed with SMA. A genetic condition that causes broken bones in infants. This was two weeks after the death of both parents. The father was a dedicated serviceman, a policeman, and a great father.
I was trying to tell this story to my wife this morning. I choked up near the end, and had trouble finishing. My voice was staggering and had tears in my eyes.
Looking back, I think this was the first edge of Cataplexy. What think you?
