You know that story infuriated me. I understand your point when you say we also need to educate doctors so that another dear soul doesn't have to have a life ruined. But really, why has it become OUR obligation to educate someone like a doctor who is already supposed to be educated? It sounds like gross negligence to me. I notice a larger trend in our society also where the individual now has to watch out because the institutions that used to be set up to protect and regulate aren't there or aren't doing their job. It's like it's every man for himself. I don't consider myself a smart man but even I can know the really rather few criteria that would make a diagnosis of narcolepsy a pretty good bet. Doctors can't do this also. I couldn't have gotten into med school. How did they?
