Jim and I were just talking about this yesterday, because a woman we know with multiple health problems is having an endoscopy test.
Yup, I told that cocky doctor "Look, I have been having waking and sleeping anaphylaxis, and I stop breathing". But not one word from him in my "informed consent" for the procedure, about the drug having exactly that risk.
After hours of really scary recovery, struggling to drag a tiny bit of air past my closed throat, while they must have been deciding on their next move,
while a dear woman in scrubs crouched OVER my face and prayed,
I was brought back to my waiting daughters feeling like sh1t and wondering who I could ever trust in this world.
The doc came to my bed and said "Wow, yeah, you stopped breathing"
