ABS and Brake check lights.

Since this morning, the ABS and the Brake check lights on my V remained on. The hand brake is fully disengaged. I brought it to the dealer. They checked and reset the 'module', which didn't help. They told me that they have to order the module. They said that the brake is working fine in the mean time. Has anyone has similar problems???
I should have known better than posting last time that the vehicle has no problems. I JINXED MYSELF!!! Maybe that's why you don't see many people posting that they have no problems. I have 9500 miles on it so far.

Before they replace...

First off I hear you about the jinx, I'm a fairly rational person (some will disagree )but I still am superstitious. I've said enough here to damn myself to eternal problems. Oh well what will happen will happen, it's just a car or a truck or whatever, can't go crazy over it.

Now to your ABS issue. I know when I was researching the CEL and during my follow ups I found out there are several TSBs related to the ABS light coming on. I would play nice with your dealer and get him to show you all the TSBs related to ABS. Perhaps they have already consulted them but it pays to double check. Similar to the CEL they might be following a diagnostic flow chart that tells them to replace something that may not need replacing.

Good luck and please let us know what transpires as that's what makes this place so useful. When we have the correct info, we are all better off.

I wonder if this problem has been fixed with recently built Vs. I hope so... I don't want to see CEL or brake lights popping on all the time. This is bloody annoying and should not be happening on a new car...

The Brake light is not a common problem.
The CEL is anoying but harmless.

Nor do I want to see my V' "pull to the right" after driving for only a 1000 miles...How common is this problem?

My wife's 2002 CRV Sport Auto (build date april 2002) drives pretty damn straight and does drive to either side if there's a slight curve.

Interestingly, I haven't heard of any Australian V's complaining about PTTR?

I find it odd the PTTR problem seems to happen after putting some mileage on....alignments should not go out of whack so quickly. It may be because of a bent camber/castor..

US EX-AT

I do notice it like to follow the crown a bit more then other cars. Must be something in the front end design.
I was thinking about having a bit of extra toe-in set when it need an alignment.
Nothing major, just have it set to the inner limit of the specification.

We just took ours on a 4,300 mile trip and it performed beautifully. Of course, if you're driving on the right side of the road and it slopes off to the right, you might get a slight pull if you take your hands off the wheel. But otherwise it is one of the most accurate steering Hondas I've ever driven.

(And someday I might get to drive it again if they ever find a replacement for the ECM!)

Look on the bright side... At least you will get an ECM with the latest Honda software burned on it...

My V had 5 miles on it when I left the dealership and drove 660 miles. It pulled to the right from the get go.

the V is in the body shop following my episode with the deer. This will be about a 6 week process to get a new hood, fender and door. Asked the bodyshop to check the alignment, will let you know. Will be in Europe for two weeks so it will be some time before I get a chance to drive the V again.
