Sr. Piezoelectric Vibration Sensor Design Engineer
A major research company located in Montgomery County, MD has an opening for a Sr. Piezoelectric Vibration Sensor Design Engineer. This Engineer will support new product development, customer requests for special and custom products, and customer technical support. The sensor design engineer works closely with Sales, Quality and Manufacturing staff to ensure that new designs meet the market expectations and that they can be manufactured efficiently. The sensor design engineer develops and tests electronic circuits and mechanical structures and creates drawings and bills of material to support efficient assembly of the products.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
„X Assists sales in the development of new product specifications.
„X Designs new circuits and mechanical structures to meet the new product specifications.
„X Manage product development projects
„X Performs testing and evaluation of new designs and design changes to confirm that new products meet the application requirements and conform to the specifications.
„X Develop and maintain appropriate documentation to allow cost effective production of products.
„X Provides technical support for customers, the sales staff and applications engineering.
„X Supports sales with the publishing of technical articles and presentations.
„X Works with and through Production, Quality Assurance, and Sales to resolve products problems and customer issues.
„X Mentor entry and intermediate level engineers
Qualifications/Education:
BS Physics, (BSEE with extensive mechanical experience or BSME with extensive electrical experience may be substituted). A minimum of 5 years experience in piezoelectric vibration sensor design and production. Ability to use mechanical and electrical design software. Project Management experience.
