This might be a little premature, but Lo Mang will be coming to the States in August 2007.
The location will be Philadelphia,Pa.YES Philly.
This will be his very first visit to the States, so
this will actually be a historic event.
He will be given a lifetime achievement award for his work in Asian cinema.
Sorry, but the dates and the event location are still being worked out.
This is a real event not something made up.
I'm the friend and student of Lo Mang.
Please do not ask me any personal questions about him sorry.
His is a quiet and private person.
I will keep posting info as it gets nearer to the event.
You can see a photo of him and myself at

"Since you know that, let's see who you are".
"Show your stuff".

As you all may have heard Hong Kong film legend Lo Mang
will be coming to the States this coming August 2007.
Tickets will not be available until the end of April, but if you would like to contact me in advance and place your name on the list of advance tickets once they are available you can do so anytime.
I know this will be a memorial event and for all who attend.
And I want to thank this site for helping promote it.
I look forward to this association together.
This the top site for most people in the industry to view updated info on martial arts legends from Shaw Brothers studio.
Keep supporting this site I know I will.
Thank you all.
I'm the organizer of the event that will bring Lo Mang to the States.
The event is still in the early stages, but I can assure you that it is going to happen.
Lo Mang is going to be the FIRST recipient of a lifetime achievement award for his work in Asian cinema.
Through the Venoms fansite you'll be updated on any progress as it develops.
So keep checking this site for any info.
Thanks for your comment and concern.
Regards,
Richard A.Hopkins/Organizer aka actiondirector1
Hello I would love to attend the upcoming event. I myself am from Philly and moved here to Florida. I'm a true disciple of the Shaolin System I have been in the martial arts for over 30yrs. I just got back from visiting Mstr. Eric Lee so I am very excited about this event. . Please email me with any further updates.
I am in direct contact with the host, Richard, of this event. I can assure you the proper plans are in place. And Lo Meng will be here in the US for the first time in his life.
You know I'm strict when it comes to this kind of info. And I can understand your being skeptical. It wouldn't be on this site if I felt otherwise. And don't worry, we'll be updating every step of the way.
well i will definately be goin...when there are definite dates and everything is 100% sure that this event will take place ..thats when i will be ordering my tickets...i just dont want to get all hyped about this event and then it not happen..not that i dont like the thought of this event and its not like i didnt read the other posts here but im more the type of person who believes it when he see's it...sorry to sound so pesamistic but i cant help seeing at the last moment somethin "coming up" where the event doesnt take place...sorry but thats just me.. thats how ive always been...but like i always say..if im wrong i will be the 1st to admit it...so believe me when i say that this is one of those times that i hope my feelings are wrong
I'm going to hold you too that lol.
I'm alittle like you but believe me I'm doing everything moving along smoothly right now.
Here in Philly I have the whole Chinese Business Assoication behind me and I'm meeting with them again
this coming wednesday to set up the lion dance celebration for when he is here.
Trust me, I live here and I'm not going to lose face.
Stay possitive for the many fans that want to see this
go off smoothly.
We don't need any negative energy floating around.
Thanks for your post.
The location has to be in center city or even in Chinatown.
I would like to get the convention center which I'm working on right now.
Here is the thing it's about the money.
The fans don't know it ,but I'm funding most of this right now.
That's why I'm asking for investors or sponsors to help get me closer to the goal of bringing Lo Mang
here.
Bottom line is it's going to happen slowly but surely.
Like the moderator said from here if you wait until the last moment you might miss the boat.
Trust me I'm in the film business as you must know by now so anyone that has read my post know how to get in contact with me at anytime.
I have nothing to hide.
I'm real about what I do.
Thanks maybe we can meet up in Philly somewhere.
Nicely put! This is an event with good intention and honest ambition. I keep reminding people to RSVP for their ticket. As it costs nothing. Look at this internet as an advance benefit. Wait too long and when you may realize to jump on board and it could be too late.
Great news on your meetings with the CBA in Philly. Good news to hear indeed!
Man, id love to go to this, if it happens, but its just too far away for me. I dont have the cash to spare since i have 2 trips i have to go on already this year. Seriously if it was closer, id be there.
Lo mang is deffinetly someone id like to meet, but man, if i could scrape up the cash. I can try, whats like the prices on tix and stuff? This a 1 day 2 day thing?
If i cant get something going ima have to have one of you guys get me a signed pic lol.
Here is some really good news that you all should be happy about. Everyone who knows about martial arts films should know who BIG Mike Leeder is?
And if you don't he is the lead writer for Impact magazine which is huge in Europe and Asia. He also writes for Black Belt magazine.
He's come aboard to help promote and get sponsors like Celestria and the Weinstein Company and Image Ent.to help out in whatever way they can. Now for those of you who don't know who the Weinstein company or Image Entertainment is they are the companies that are distributing the Shaw Bros.films.
So we all need to thank BIG Mike for his help and support. Cheers to BIG MIKE.
Linn, the mod from the kung fu fandom boards? He's perhaps the most knowledgible writer on these films in the US, and has a pretty great resume internationally as well. I personally would love to meet the guy or hear him speak. Judging from the posts on kung fu fandom, others would too.
Any word yet on who else is possibly going to be at the expo? I am definitely going, but it would be awesome to find out who else is going to be there.
I don't want to post who might be there and then those persons don't show up.
The main thing is that Lo Mang will be there the other
guess will be added attractions if they show.
My kung fu brother Robert Samuels will be there he's Sammo Hung's protege and he has done four films in Hong Kong.
Gamblin Ghost,Red Wolf,Don't Give A Damn,and
My Mistress,My Wife.
We will have a lot of entertainment at the expo,
martial arts demos, dancers, face painters, musicial performers and a lot more.
Here's one thing that everyone might not know Lo Mang
loves playing the guitar, who would have figured.
He might even perform on stage I said he MIGHT!
Anyway he does have something planned special for the
people that will attend.
And don't forget about those giveaways coming up soon.
This website and my new friend Teako's website along
with a few others have done so much to promote this event that I can't said enough thank you's for them
embracing me with their support.
I DEFINTELY WANT TO ATTEND THIS SPECIAL EVENT IN AUGUST. MY ONLY QUESTION IS WHERE DO I GO ABOUT GETTING THE TICKETS PRIOR TO THE DAY OF THE EVENT-WILL IT BE AVAILABLE BY TICKETMASTER OUTLETS OR WILL I HAVE TO GO PERSONALLY TO THE PLACE AND BUY THE TICKETS THERE?
I have been very busy putting the last few things together to make this an awesome event for everyone involved.
I have spoken to Lo Mang on a few occassions and he's ready to come to the States to meet with his fans.
He's in great shape and spirit.
So on monday everything will be a go.
You'll be notified how to get your tics in advance.
Once a certain amount are sold than the rest will be at the door which is a little more, so get youir tics this coming monday.
Also I can't say yet but a very special person knows
about this event and sends their blessing and congrats
to Lo Mang.
So to me this is already special.
I will post it on monday who send me an e-mail about
the event so come back then.

Due to things beyond my control Sifu Lo Mang will notbe available until after August 19th so everything has been pushed back three weeks sorry about that.
Believe me I'm just as impatient as you guys are, but here's the good thing it's still going to happen.
I see already that TB has posted the new event dates.
The new dates are saturday August, 25th for the fight choreography clinic and the award banquet as well.
Sunday August, 26th is the martial arts expo still the same location International House 3701 Chestnut st.
I want to also let you guys know alittle more about what will be happening at the event.
There will be martial arts demonstrations, hip hop dancers, music rappers and some film and television celebrities on hand to meet with the fans as well.
Also there will be something really special during the earlier part of the event so don't miss it, it won't happen again ever I think. And our main attraction Sifu Lo Mang.
So bring your cameras along and shoot like crazy. There will be free giveaways that are really cool to have.
We have a limited amount of free t-shirts that will be given out and signed by Sifu Lo Mang which will normally sell for around $20.00.
These t-shirts will become collectors items soon I promise you.
I want to thank everyone for hanging in there and being patient.
It seems to me that you really dont know when or where the event is going to be in August or at all so why should we believe you or feel so sure about the event at all.I f it really going to be an event with Sifu Lo Mang.you better know when and where before i pay for tickets because we dont play any games here in brooklyn. And i like to meet and the other guest and my uncle and aunt are polititions and im there favorite nephew. So if i have any problem that i cant resolve myself they will help me so i hope that your word is bond! Thankyou and good bye.
If you read the press release there are confirmed dates and locations. It is booked and will happen. Phone numbers and contacts, make this all a reality. Here is a direct link to the press releases for more information:
I hope that you read this.
First off the event is going to happen and locations and times have been posted.
On my website there is a flyer which has info the only thing that is wrong are the dates.
The events are scheduled for the fight choreography
clinic saturday August 25th at 11:00am and the award
banquet at 7:00pm.
The following day sunday August 26th at the International House is the martial arts expo doors open
at 10:00.
Throwing out to me that Brooklin doesn't play is really
kinda of harsh and rude to say the least.
This event was just endorsed by Jackie Chan 2 weeks ago.
He sent my company free signed autographed items,so why would I put myself and career on the line to SCAM people.
I also have Jackie Chan's Hapkido teacher and movie actor Kim Jin Pal coming and other special guest.
You actually called me a few months ago and I was really looking forward to meeting with you, but now
I don't think so.
Anyone else can introduce themselves to me at anytime.
I have learnt that no matter what you do in life to try and please some people that there will always be some who are skeptics.
Everyone else enjoy.
I apologize to this forum, but I couldn't sit back like it didn't insult me, it did.
