Who's your favorite Venom?

Hi all!

I'm new here in this board but I'm a long time visitor of this site. To start, I'd like to ask: Who's your fav Venom?

Well, it's obvious that my favorite is Lu Feng. He's superb with weapons and is great in vilain roles and even better in comedy. I like the other guys too (Chiang Sheng is the 2nd and Kuo Chui the 3rd), but Lu is one step higher. I've seen all the Venoms flicks and the "non-venoms" movies, with only one or two of them (except some Lo Meng and Sun Chien movies). I run a blog where I post reviews (in portuguese) of old school kung fu flicks and I want to know if I can post some reviews here. If yes, I'd be glad to contribute.

Thanks a lot and Merry Xmas to all of you!

Welcome aboard...
Fave Venom.
Answering that question is both very easy and very difficult. Who's my fave largely depends on which Venom film I saw latest...
But I do have a soft spot for Lo Meng and Wei Pai. It's been a few months since I saw my first Venom film and since then my preferences have slightly shifted several times - but these two still tend to stand out for me, for various reasons.

Trick Question?

February 8 2008, 6:16 PM

To answer this is kind of tricky. Mainly the Venoms became who they are because of their performance as a group. They do however stand out from each other in different ways.

Lu Feng - Most Deadly Venom
He was the most powerful and fierce when it came to weapon work. The only Venom to take on all the other Venoms, so that says alot.

Phillip Kwok - Most Developed Venom
It's great to see his progress over their films. Seems like he was always creating and growing.

Lo Meng - Most Remembered Venom
His performances were strong, consistent, and necessary. Really notice the lack of "Venoms" when he's missing in a film.

Chiang Sheng - Most Versatile Venom
He was the most loved because he had an honest, quiet strength to him. No matter what character he played or how he fought he seemed the most serious when it came to his work with the team.

Sun Chien - Most Honorable Venom
He didn't have the martial art skill or acting caliber of the others. Yet they kept him on the squad. He hung in there and gave the right performances at the right time. All egoes set aside.

That's my opinion. But they were nothing without each other as a group, the Venoms!

Thanks,
VenomsFan

Fav Venom

It is no secret that Lu Feng has long been my fav but I have to agree with Venom Fan, they all bring something to the table that makes them "The Five Deadly Venoms". Its the chemistry that they bring as a team that is the best. I miss Sun and Lo when they are not in the movies and I don't think Lu Feng could carry the whole movie and do what Kwok does in being the glue to the story line. Of course the shear skill of Chiang keeps you stuck to the screen ( bad teeth and all). So I say Lu Feng but I love them all just the same.

It has been a long time since I posted on this site. I just had to answer this question.

Lu-Feng all the way! However, I do agree with Venoms Fan. Each of the Venoms do bring something special to the movies. I do love me some Lu-Feng.
