like i said before, everyone has their right to an opinion and if you find some aspect of the show disgusting, you have a remote control so change the channel. it's that simple.
anyway, i think it has nothing to do with political correctness at all. in fact, political correctness went out with the 90's. if they were concerned about losing revenues they would have edited out the transexual, not gay, storyline. in my opinion, argos, is presenting this character to show the viewing public that people no matter what gender or sexual orientation they happen to be are human and deserve to be treated with dignity and respect.
i think they've done a great job presenting a well developed character such as renata, who through the adversity of her life happens to just as beautiful on the inside as she is on the outside.
