I've seen some magazine ads lately that featured upscale watches (over $1K) that had painted on numbers and the same stamped "guilloche" look I have on my cheap Chinese mecaquartz chrono.
For big bucks, you'd think they could at least do applied markers and a distinctive dial texture, right? I mean they've already shopped out the movement, using ETA stuff usually. I know they expect you to pay through the nose for the privelege of wearing their "name", but most people don't even recognize half of these "name" brands.
