Response to Several in state schools still have full scholarships available
but by this thread it is pretty clear that your child is a girl player. Several things tip this off. First, there are very few schools in Georgia that offer mens soccer, even fewer that are DI which is where "athletic" money is available (I know there are some DII and NAIA but not much money). You are implying that there was (or was to be) an offer of Atletic money, not academic. Almost all offers include academic and or need based money. Your childs skill nor the coaches input factor into these two categories. Once you get passed the two DA programs and maybe the U17 SPL/NL team (these are HS JRS where the recruiting is most heated) there isn't a boys team with 5 legit DI college prospects, especially when you narrow it down to GA. Has to be a girl since there are tons more opportunities.
