I disagree

We should not be benchmarking ourselves based on Barcelona. We are so far behind that there are other youth academies that we should base it on. However, with that being said our current system does not entice coaches to adapt Reyna's philosophy. Until we can have any monetary compensation for sending a player to an MLS club, YNT, MNT, WNT, it will not be adopted because players have the ability here to change clubs as they wish when they like since they pay to play. Funding would change everything but that will not change anytime soon, so it is foolish to think/wish otherwise. Instead we need to be proactice in finding solutions to our current setup to aid development; unfortunately, many who are around the situation lack the problem-solving and thinking skills to accomplish what we need done for improvement in youth development.
