GSA u12 red semi-finalist?

Someone help me understand this. GSA u12 plays in Charlotte Invitational in u13 second bracket. Ties both games that they play 3-3 and 1-1. Which places them second in their bracket. Tournament cancelled and they post they were semi finalist. Huh? Top teams in both bracket play for championship. Problem is GSA hadn't won a game. The team in the top spot in their bracket has won 2 games already. Is this wishful thinking or a pattern? Did the same thing at Vulcan Cup. Posted they were semi finalist and didn't win their bracket UFA did. Shouldn't just tying both U13 teams be enough? Why put in misleading information?
