      So your son impresses a college coach.

      The college coach contacts your club coach.

      College Coach makes an offer which includes decent money.

      Club coach says good things about your son (implied by offer) and in the process introduces college coach to another player on your team.

      The other player has financial issues that may prevent child from going to college.

      Based on the introduction, another player on your team may have the opportunity to go to college.

      Your son has scholarship offer, teammate may have scholarship offer and may get a chance to go to college.

      You are upset with the coach.

      You sound like a wonderful, loving, caring person.

      I wonder how the other parents describe you and your son.
