      Thank goodness someone made some sense. Formation matters sure, but formation does not win games (check spain's 4-6)... And by the way what the "Three Lions" played was closer to a 4-5-1 with rooney in a role under the striker.

      Formation is pretty at kick off then its all about players knowing their roles and doing their jobs...

      4-4-2 can look like a 4-3-3 if you leave a wing high or keep an attacking mid up or it can be a 4-5-1 if you ask one striker to drop in and help defend in the middle.
