      A verbal commitment is just a bunch of hot air.Players change their commitments all the time,although I applaud your morals on your word being your word,so college programs dont even pay attention to them.If they want you they will pursue you. The programs make offers.You decide which offer you take.These offers are in writing so you have a leg to stand on.Don't worry that making a verbal will scare some colleges away.It can be used as bargaining power so you can possibly get better offers from some of the schools you have on your short list.
