Region 3 91 Girls ODPMarch 24 2008 at 2:57 PM No score for this post | Anonymous |
| I saw this soccer blog site with the results for the 91 Region 3 ODP teams trip to Spain on an Alabama soccer website. http://blog.al.com/touchlines/2008/03/alabama_girls_play_well_in_spa.html In the article they list the roster for the team. There were 3 players from North Carolina, 3 from Alabama, 3 from Florida, and 9 from Texas. I am surprided that there were no Georgia girls on the team. Is this normal for this age group? I know we use to have numerous girls in the past on the 89 and 90 regional teams. |

None of them wanted to waste the money. It is good to see they are finally catching on. |

Yeah I'll bet that most players would not like to spend 10 days in Spain over Easter break, playing 7 games, with 3 top college coaches, plane fight, accomodations, meals, Liga game tickets, for less less than cost of the plane fight. First you have to make the regional pool before you can turn it down. I believe it was their choice and not yours, but nice try. - |

They never had a chance with the coaches they had. they are actually one of the most talented age groups. Several top players gave up on it. |

Every coach we got was bad, we had sick players, we were screwed, it was political, my daughter was cut! Cry Cry Cry. ODP is about standing out as an individual. The coach has little to do with the success of the players in ODP. So quit your bitc**** and tell your daughter to train harder. |

Coaches were either no shows at region camp or invisible when they were there. They are an important part of the process when choosing players for the region pool. The 91 girls have and had several outstanding players and they are not weaker than the 90's or the 92's. In the case of the 91's, the money was a waste because of the coaching staff. |

and that's all it is - an excuse. If any of them had been invited to participate in a European trip, they'd have been all over it. There were many '90s that got invited to play in Europe and those girls have all comitted. What does that do to your excuse? |

This age group has the worst coaching staff on the whole girls side. Red flags should have gone up when not one GA girl was selected. |

| No excuse for the no-show coachesNo score for this post | March 24 2008, 10:30 PM |
Two years in a row, the coach either didn't show for camp or was two days late. When the parents complained, he started a campaign against the whole age group and hasn't stopped yet. $600 and no coach. These players always deserved better and never got it. They have proven themselves in Region play and Ga never gave them a fair shake. They sure took their money though. BTW, the next coach they were given, just never got the respect from the other coaches at the region level. I spoke with a coach from another state and they had never heard of him, even after region camp. |

There was a valid excuse for the one year it happened. They've had the same coach for the past couple of years. You are just big on looking for excuses as to why your daughter has not made it to the region pool. Maybe it's because she's just not good enough. |

Seems like by now you would see the reality. Your kids are no that good! Campaign? Come on!
Did the coaches call the Region III Staff? Did they call the National Staff? Did they tell them to not look at the "high quality" Georgia girls? Yep, the coaches campaigned to screw your kid! Why not call the coaches and tell them how you feel? Oh that is right you would have to show what a fool you are. Now take your Prozac and shut up. |
