TG is also the DOC for that age group thru U/15 - he has done alot for both of these teams this past year. |

Hopefully he'll watch his back with that bunch. |

He's the DOC and the better coach no doubt. 30+ girls will develop at the top level next year, and many more a step or two below. He'll then take the combined elite team at U14 as more players come in the following year to go to R3PL and Regionals. |

Combined elite team? What makes you think those teams could combine? Either play on the best team now or be left in the dust! |

Don't see the combination working and if he is going to be the coach at 14 of the one elite team then the girls on the other u13 elite team will be at a disadvantage. |

| Re: AgreeNo score for this post | May 16 2008, 12:36 PM |
The only ones that will be at a disadvantage are the ones who are not talented enough to make the top team. Regardless of who the coach is the team should be comprised of the best players if they want to become R3PL. |

yes, that should be the case, but this forum is a prime example of why soccer in Georgia does not equal a perfect world. |

you can pad his pockets. He only helps the ones that can make monetary contributions for extra training. I have past experience with this. |

| AFU now the deepest pool in the state...No score for this post | May 16 2008, 12:48 PM |
No other club will have 2 teams that can compete with the top 5 in the age group. The team coming over from AA has been the best for a while and the AFU team has improved. They have been able to compete with the top 3 and have beaten the next 3 in recent weeks.
TG and DJ are working together well already and will make this the best and deepest pool in GA.
We are looking forward to a great year.

It is not going to work just watch and see. There will be too many personal agendas and parent interference especially after kids get moved from certain teams which will inevitably happen. They will eventually have just one team. |

That's all nice in theory but you clearly don't know some of those characters. Wait until agendas come out after the real competition begins. |

Nasa has proven that they can have 2 top teams in the top bracket for the last several years. U14 and U13s.
But yet, I have never heard them boast about like you have.....You could learn from them.

Looks like AFU is the place to be for girls soccer. They already have R3PL teams in every age group, Red Bull NL, and the USSF Academy (girls coming soon). This move will just continue the tradition of excellence. |

Development? Numbers my friend. But that's ok, they'll keep having their emergency meetings to keep teams from leaving.
But each year, they bleed to players because the DON'T develop, they just move players around. |
